If anyone maybe have a pricelist of all sram products available in South Africa would you please share it.

Altus you will need to actively follow a list of the on-lines stores.

BE VERY careful of stock levels.

Limited quantities coming into SA, each batch with a different exchange rate ... and different deals from each outlet.

So either order from your local bike shop, possibly at a premium .... or get ready to hunt for that special deal ....

Local prices are insane but have been coming down slightly these last 4 - 5 weeks - I'm about to go on a little trip and @ ROE 17.8 + 19% taxes in the country i'm going to order online prices are still 25 - 30% cheaper.

There is no such thing. Unless you get a screen dump from Cape Cycles themselves. Which is unlikely since such a list will be out of date within weeks.

Besides, as per the CEO’s comments. Even though SRAM have more product on their shelves than their entire history. Stock levels are constantly in flux as they compete for shipping. Consequently this affects pricing.

Also, they are not allowed to provide RRP figures, because of the competition commission.

Not true, they can't prescribe retail pricing. RRP/SRP (Reccomended or Suggested Retail Pricing) are an entirely different thing altogether, by definition they aren't prescriptive.

RRP/SRP is a standard across numerous industries.

Well, sort of. RRP/SRP is in principle supposed to be a way to avoid the monopoly-direction issues of prescription, but the problem is that some distributors have been burnt, so they tend to be super careful to even recommend because of how it could be construed. Look, this is a personal anecdote, but I had someone at CCS be cagey with any sort of price a few years ago due to this.

(Times change though, so maybe it's very different now).

Yes thanks, aware of that.
But there is no restriction that doesn't allow sharing of RRP/SRP.

Correct, its is Recommended or Suggested and not prescribed. i.e. the manufacturer/importer suggests this is what you sell it for, the local reseller can either chose to discount it below that or make more money and sell above that.

Look at car prices, what you see in the likes of car mag or on the manufacturers website is an RRP, but since most dealerships are not owned by the importer they can sell at whatever price they like, which is why the first question anyone asks when looking at a car is "how much discount"

And mostly the response is "We are prohibited by the importer to provide discounts"

I wish, these days if you dont offer close to dealer cost price on a car the customer just shops somewhere else. And then they wonder why dealerships are closing their doors. You cant pay bills when there is zero profit.

Stock shortages on new vehicles with people giving away scarce, highly sought after models at zero profit. Customers and resellers (don't get me started on these pirates) are taking advantage and dealers are seemingly unable to react. Seems to be a problem in most sales environments, from cars to bikes and everything in between.

because pressure from the top to just move the metal. You look good to the OEM because you are moving metal but not making money.

from what I was told ....  (by all means, I may have heard it wrong)

SRAM can do as they please, including RRP.

SHIMANO can do as they please, including RRP.

Competition commission takes note when "sram" and "shimano" start having coffee and the prices go up in sync ....
