There are some monster names on the startlist - Sehili, Willcox amongst others

i'm not sure why there's not much chatter here yet, it sure flew under my radar.

It will be great if all those names arrive (I'm not convinced that all will😉). A couple of the ladies on that list are proper contenders. Lael vs Sarah will be an interesting duel to watch in itself.

The tough conditions (viz heat) once they hit the western section of the route will test the riders properly.

Pretty sure it's tomorrow? (at least that's what the website, and benky's warmup ride on strava says)

I see lael has pulled out, which is a pity.

Correct. I got my days mixed up.

Where did you see about Lael?

Benky just finished the 1st section of the race. He smashed the 726km Cross Cape route from Plett to Stellenbosch in 38hrs!! Insane.

I saw him roll into Stellenbosch last night and he was still looking fresh. Madness!

Why is nobody talking about this? What a race!

Benky and Abdulllah from Aus seem to be changing the lead every few hours, but they are way ahead of everyone else after 1675km . Still more than a 1000km to go to Windhoek.

Was also thinking the same. Go Benky!
