It looks like Pog will take this Tour, so my question is: how great will the temptation be to enter the Vuelta in a bid for all 3 GT's in a calendar year?

As soon as they put on that Yellow jersey on his shoulders on the Final Podium they need to SERIOUSLY think about his objectives for the rest of 2024. When again will he be served up with such a golden opportunity to take three GTs in the same year?

Drop the priority of all the other races. Even the Olympics and Worlds IMHO.

"If we had to, how could we get Pogi to ride Vuelta?" He doesn't have to be at his peak ability, just 80% Pogi should take it at a canter...

Just imagine this, Winning the Giro, Le Tour, Vualta, Olympic games, and world championship in one year. than throw in a Liege-Bastogne-Leige and Strade Bianche in the mix as well.

That would be impossible....?

well, a good game of cycling bingo would be 'name the impossible things Pog has made possible'

as cycling fans, we are truly blessed to be witnessing the current generation

Not even just Pog, the whole lot of them have done remarkable things:
-Cav taking Number 35
-Grmay being leader of the Green Jersey right now
-Bardet wearing Yellow in the TDF
-Kuss winning a GT after being Super-Domestique in the other two GT's(2023)
-Jonas, Remco and Wout being highly competitive despite their crashes in the Spring

Impossible is a very strong word. Unexpected, sure...

Also Pogi hinted in an interview that Remco and him could double up against Jonas if Vlab.

So even if Jonas is planning something he now has to attack Pogi while defending against Remco. Tall ask

not that i have any idea of team tactics, but that should be an easy one... attacking Pogi alone would rule Remco out immediately.

the challenge is actually Jonas not having the legs to take on Pogi in the 1st place and if he accepts this just follow Remco's wheel instead and consolidate he's 2nd place... not great for viewing i'm sure but the dark place he found himself a few months ago i'm sure he'll take it

also have to consider the remainder of his career. Pointless having the year of years and suffer burn out in 2025

For sure. Need to know how deep he has gone this year. Only his coach and himself will truly know how deep he has gone in the Spring + Giro + Tour.

My point is just, they need to ask the question and look at the data. Any decision should not be done blindly, (not that UAE would do something like that).

Well he is planning on doing Olympics next and the World champs as well, if he do manage to win just one of the two it is still one of the best seasons by any rider in history.

Anyone have any insight on the courses for the Olympics and world champs?

Wout in the break away.  Would be awesome if he can take the stage.

Looking at the names of the rest of the breakaway riders, he should have a decent chance here... Unless everyone outmarks him, which is unfortunately very likely.
