Replacing a rear brake hose

Hallo

I want to repalce the rear brake hose on a KTM Myroon comp, but the hose does not want to budge 

any advise

What part is not budging ?

 

The hose is undone from the lever and caliper ends with a 7mm.  Should not require great force to undo this.

 

The cable is often cable tied at a few spots.... just a bit of patience to trace where it is tied to.

 

On the odd occasion it is actually held in place with a screw and clamp ....

 

 

Often the end must be cut off to get the hose out of the frame when internally routed.

 

NOTE ... You really want to use the old hose to pull in the new hose when dealing with internally routed pipes.

Question: why do you want to replace the hose? Is it damaged in any way?

No , its a Shimano hose  from Deore brake system that I want to replace 

the fluit came out black with some debris in it 

i bough Sram Guide R and want to fit them  

so I though I should replace the Shimano hose with the sram hose

Don't do that

Shimano uses mineral oil, SRAM uses dot fluid. The two are not compatible.

Just bleed the brakes, the gunk will come out.

Otherwise most big bike shops sell shimano hose by the meter. IF my memory serves, the Deroe brakes don't have a banjo on the caliper end, so all you will need is 2 sets of shimano willy and olives and you can re use the threaded pressure bolts.

That's correct yes, the fluids are not compatible, the connector on the caliper may also be different but.... 

 

If you flush out all the mineral oil and replace the connector then you will be able to reuse the hose.

So the best is to keep the hose in its place 

& only swap out the calliper  and lever !

If you are swapping from Shimano levers and Calipers to a  SRAM system, then you need to changes hoses with the levers and calipers.

Shimano uses Mineral oil and SRAM uses Dot fluid

(Just to confuse things, SRAM has now also released a range that uses Mineral oil)

Okay here OP says he bought A Guide R which he wants to use 

 

this means he can NOT FLUSH the hoses and use the shimano ones 

 

OP please post pics of every parts of this system before starting to fit them or bring fluid near them , both ends of the hose , caliper and lever 

 

 

I have read this three times now and it seems like we're saying he should flush the hose then all will ne fine ( which it will) BUT he said just above he got Guide R's which he wants to fit

Wrt pictures , are you referring to the Deore system or the Guided R ?
