Hi all,
In the hype of taking up cycling I recently bought a pair of cycling shoes for R800 without thinking too much about it. Unfortunately after my first ride (I have a Fuji Absolute 1.3 Hybrid) I realised the front of the shoes are too narrow and I have wide feet causing swelling and pain in my small toes. Any suggestions for cycling shoes that cater for wide feet and won't break the bank.
Thanks

Road or MTB? A few brands do normal and a wide shoe. Shimano Dynalast cater for a wider foot. Giro do the HV that is a wide version of the normal fit.

What’s your budget?

generally Lake cycling shoes offer the most comprehensive range of all widths of shoe at prices ranges starting at about R2300 up to eye watering R10k

@Thoneshan you most likely know this but look for 1/2 sizes so for example you're size 10 then look for 10,5. If you still need wider then Specialized used to (& probably still do) have a size ,75 wide eg 10,75 but it may be a bit expensive. Good luck I hope you succeed :)

Must be a recent change - had two pairs that fitted lengthwise but we're too narrow.

It’s relative. Specialized do come up narrow, just like Shimano. The std Lake mx 237 is wider than my Shimano xc7 wide.
