CAAD4 Posted September 19, 2012 Share Good show, was just wondering cause there was a thread here somewhere about how verbotten it is to take bikes on the train, thought you might have found a "workaround".... tjop Van you can take your bike on the Gautrain, provided it is in a bag. There is a Hubber that does just that. He made a huge bag out of denim which contains the complete bike without removing anything, which folds up into his backpack when he is ready to ride.. petatodd Posted September 20, 2012 Share Is there place to leave (safely) your bike at the station?Hi SwissVan, Yes, there is a bike bay inside the station where you can lock your bike safely (bring your own bike lock obviously) and I have been commuting to work on my bike for the past 6 months, almost everyday, without any issues. Bike bay @ Centurion Gautrain Station In Africa? Surely you jest? Hairy Posted September 20, 2012 Share Bike bay @ Centurion Gautrain Station That is a cheap ass looking bike station ... I hope they intend to improve and increase the size of it! I take it one would not want a QR seatpost clamp on your bike when parking there for the day?

Bianchi Posted September 22, 2012 Share Wish I could have taken a photo, but yeah.Saw the most beautiful sunrise on one side of the road and lightning on the other side. Had to turn back unfortunately as the rain threatened to get worse.
gummibear Posted September 22, 2012 Share Often on some of these beautiful spring mornings, I would take the backpack with the camera along and ride along the back roads, not to get fit or get faster, but for this !!! Great pics.

DJR Posted September 22, 2012 Share Great pictures Meezo! My youngest and I did a leisurely ride from the Cape Town stadium, through the city centre and all the way out to Blouberg along the cycle path, had a croissant and then rode back, got cold and wet, but still had a great time. Meezo Posted September 22, 2012 Share thanks guys..... i did mention in the black bikes only thread, they are chinese carbon wheels with some stickers from Tyrone..... if i could ever buy wheels it would be enve they, they are by far(IMO) the nicest looking wheels out there. to answer the hub question they are some pretty decent novatec hubs.
