RocknRolla Posted September 2, 2019 Share Headed out to Mankele on Thursday. 3 days of spectacular riding, but the nature of the terrain has my legs feeling it today. Friday, after too many beers Thursday afternoon/evening, we set out on the mankelekele trail. The first 10 to 15km (not sure, may have blacked out) is a wall, that had my HR at max pretty early.Still calm and pretty.... Sleeping late, and starting to ride at 10:30 may also have not been the best idea. Eveeeeentually made it to the topThe view was worth it! Took some shortcuts to get back to camp, and the pool, and cold beer. DJR, Wayne pudding Mol, fanievb and 1 other
RocknRolla Posted September 2, 2019 Share Saturday, we seeked out the infamous Bush Tunnels, something more fun, as the previous day's afk@k was still fresh in our minds, Took some snaps, mostly of my riding partners, don't have consent to post their pictures, but here's a little video. I dropped into the bushtunnel, way too hot. On the brakes, but could not do anything, Luckily an embankment caught me, and not some other deadly obstacles. (Trees, Rockface, Boulders, a sheer cliff) The afternoon, we went out again, doing snakes and ladders, no photo's it was too much fun. Also left the gopro in the cabin. But one has to go there to experience it. Edited September 2, 2019 by RocknRolla DJR
RocknRolla Posted September 2, 2019 Share Sunday, our final day had us looking for more fun stuff. We were advised on the silver trail, as it had some great singletrack, especially coming back. But to get there, once again, a spot of climbing is required. HR still in manageable zones... for now.. Some nice views on the way up... Just before the real fun starts. How can something contain equal amounts of pain and pleasure in one object?Mankele8.bmp Edited September 2, 2019 by RocknRolla Wayne pudding Mol, Kenty and DJR
RocknRolla Posted September 2, 2019 Share Here's unedited Clip of the long Bush Tunnel. The video is very shaky( gopro hero 4) the chesty clip was not clipped in properly. And my legs died, because of all the pedaling.
