I met a chap who works there a while ago and he also said the excessive rains this past winter did a number on the roads with huge sections completely flooded and this was the reason for the delay to reopen. At the time, about mid October, he said it was still soft and soggy in places and they were assessing it.

Hi Robbie,

Any further updates re the reopening?

If it is flooding of roads .... another 8mm of rain this week wont help the situation.

Unit 2 should go back online shortly .... traditionally they closed during maintenance, which is almost finished ....

Lets see how it plays out.

This the road outside the gate in Duynefontein during July. It stayed like this for a good few weeks. I can only imagine the level of flooding in the reserve.

I cycled it twice in the last 2 months (Koeberg Sports day).  The track dry and fast.  Only flooding could be the stretch from R27 turnoff into Koeberg along the R27 fence towards Atlantis.  One can skip that part if still flooded

I'll go apply for the permits monday, my 1st day of holidays, hopefully this time I don't have to come back with more paperwork. Then for collection I must come with my wife to collect her permit right ?
