Specialized and a couple of other BIG manufacturers moved their entire operations from China a while ago while Trump was in power.

US put all sorts of trade embargos and sanctions on China due to it's political alliances and credit/debt 'purchasing' practices.

Taiwan is now the centre for most big brands

You say Taiwan, I say Republic of China 😉

Not so sure on the custom frame... Looks like a winspace T1500/1550 to me (which is a good thing)

Pretty sure you’re correct. They’re well made frames (Cabal)

A lot of them are, I would say East Asia maybe, instead of just China..

I just said QC can be dodgey not that they make bad frames.. so basically it’s a gamble if you’ll get a solid frame first try or have to do an exchange/warranty claim and whether the hassle is worth it to save some bucks instead of buying spesh/trek who’s quality control is miles better..🤙🏻

QC by it nature is dodgy with all high volume brands as they don’t test every frame for conformance, only a representative sample of a batch of frames.

Not for all frames. Specialized use factories in both ROC and PRC. The a-works is definitely ROC

No manufacturer tests every frame, they come up with a design and do the necessary stress testing to meet the safety requirements ISO or UCI spec etc. Random frames are then put through these tests, but all frames have a visual check. I have been on my Aero 2 for about 3 years and it has been Amazing! You can't go wrong with this brand, best value for money on the market and comes with a bike fit and custom paint design!? 💪🏻

Says who? Who knows how good the QC at any of the factories? I have been involved in the bike industry and I can tell you that a lot of the good brands come from the same factories. I can also tell you that a lot of the "super premium" bike brands have lots of manufacturing/warranty issues locally or come in with bad paint/drips and have to be touched up locally. That does not say much for QC....

👍🏻 says good things for our local QC maybe..

QC is done at the factory, but the big brands are not any better with their QC. Carbon sheets are layed up by hand and there is always room for error or problems in the curing process.

You saying it does not make it so.

I can factually state "made in Taiwan" is one heck of a lot better quality than the stuff the chinese dump here ....

Taiwan split away in 1949....

Lots of claims and counter claims ever since.

Until 1994 SA sided with Taiwan.

By 1999 I was studying with a lady whose parents were senior staff in the Taiwanese consulate.  She was telling us how the new SA regime was sidelining Taiwan as it was accepting chinese with open arms.

Despite various claims, Taiwan stil operate independantly from china ....

Back on topic - I still prefer Taiwanese quality over chinese junk dump ....yea sure, grossly exagerated for effect.
