Has anyone ever dealt with this scenario ?

bike hub person is from Mozambique

2 years on the hub, no items sold, 1 review

Different person paying through fnb

Different person receiving the goods.

money has 1000% cleared and reflected in my account ? Chatted to FNB there’s no real way they can reverse it, the only issue could be is if the person who paid me is using a stolen or “hacked” account. The correct owner could file fraud, but then it’s a long process to go through ?

I agree. I’ve sent off the parcel already, but it’s got me thinking.  I’m just checking to see first if anyone has experienced anything like this.
If the amount paid was from a stolen account, the original person could report as fraud ? Then it could get reversed and then I’m without my item?

Not a banker, but unsure banks can reverse payments without letting you know first that there is/was an issue? Actually havent encountered that before.

I'm dealing with an issue through Capitec where I paid for something on my card. They can try to reverse it 30 days after via (Visa I think). Not sure about your curcumstances

Also not a banker but I can't imagine that an EFT can be reversed. If someone has bypassed the security that protects an account for an EFT, that is - password / biometric authentication, OTP then there is a leak on the account holder's side of things and I would imagine that the banks would point that out and decline reversal.

A credit card payment might be different though because that payment process, is a lot less secure possibly?

Thanks everyone. It’s sorted. Been on the phone to FNB most of the afternoon and it is very very hard for reversal of eft even if the account was logged into illegally.
appreciate the response
