Picture of my Revolt fitted with 29 x2.2 tyres. Rides like a tank with these tires 👌 🤪20250326_162621.jpg.7b736c461daff52861aad37612ed5b90.jpg20250326_162643.jpg.ba6c6e33c7d0a6bdf680b32e48315e7c.jpg20250326_162700.jpg.dcdece70876622691b05f6859d1a9faf.jpg

Which year model Revolt is your's? Mine is 2020 and I think the widest I can push mine is around 47C (47mm).

2.2inch should measure out at 55mm which means it would drag on the frame or if it only just made it, leave no clearance for a build up of mud. In muddy conditions you will pick up damage on your frame as well by the looks of things.

Think the model just after yours. Mine can take a round seatpost (30.9) and I think the previous model can only take the D shape. The big difference between mine and the older model is the tyre clearance ( 53mm according to Giant.  As per photo these measures out about 53mm. The wheels are mtb wheels from my Scalpel _ thus wide internal width.  I believe the newest model ( one after mine) only has internal cable routing and a internal storage but same geometry and tyre clearance.  Both options I'm glad I don't have...

Ah okay thanks. Then it is the model just after mine because mine does only take the D shape post (which I quite enjoy actually) but it does limit a person from fitting a dropper post if so inclined  👍

I know the hype is to go wider but even with 47C's on mine, it feels like the bike is dragging weed on a tar road. Personally I prefer around 42C's, I find them the best of both worlds  🤙

The 2024 model is same as yours @Mongoose!

The integrate headset cabling and downtube storage is on the 2025 models.

Also glad I got the 2024.  In fact that is why I walked away from the Merida ... integrated cables.

@Mongoose! do you still use the D-shape post ?  I wanted to put another post in mine to see if it stops the creak, but my spare posts are different diameters.

Try some faster rolling mtb tyres. I have the Vittorria Terreno XC’s. They come in 2.25” and 2.1”.

I was amazed by how good these Vredenstein tyres roll. With this I realised the rubber compound of a tire by far outweighs  the thread pattern of a tyre.

These roll definitely faster (gravel and tar)  as the my Gravelking 43mm.

Day and night difference ...

Would like to give the Victoria a go in future 👍

It’s the worst bike I’ve ever ridden. I wanted to love it because Evil is awesome and the bike looks rad but it’s an absolute **** show of a bike.

Yikes, interesting take. Not my experience, would like to hear from you what caused you to have this kind of response?

Do you own one?

Oh boy where to start. The 66 degree head tube angle sounds cool but doesn't work for drop bars. Wheel flop and understeer to the max. When you build a bike to take a 170mm dropper you have to make the seat tube and seat stay junction very stiff. Add a dropper and it's a super harsh ride. The same on the from end. Massively stiff and harsh front end. Then they make the max tire clearance 50mm. So it's designed like a mountain bike but don't take MTB tires. They add 7 water bottle cage mounts and say it's designed for all day epic rides. It's such a stiff harsh ride it would be horrible as an adventure or all day ride bike. The designer is a mountain biker and designs awesome mountain bikes but he had no clue how to design a good gravel bike. Not hating on Evil at all as I really love their mountain bikes and the owner and guys I met at their HQ are really cool people.
