Rabbit hole complete, frame arrived yesterday and I built it up last night (and only swearing was due to not knowing how Sram stealthamajigs work, which cost me 3 hours 🙈).

Currently running gravel suspension fork I bought from @guidodg, along with 2.1" Vittoria Mezcals, because you can't find 2.1" Thunder Burts anywhere these days thanks to Dylan Johnson.

Plenty of clearance:

People have, but it’s very tight

any mud and you’d be in trouble

Ready for the ruts of Ronde 😎

Dylan was hit by a car. No more riding for him for a bit. Hopefully, once the pain subsides, he'll make more videos. Preferably a lot of backwards hat Dylan stuff/introspection about trucks, tyres, Unbound

With Ronde done, I stuck the stock fork on this morning.

Bike feels much better now, slacker and less twitchy. Also a lot lighter.

I suspect the 2.1 tyres helped more than the suspension fork yesterday , but obviously impossible to tell.

Had to do a bit of a bodge with the brake hose, since I specifically want the ability to swap forks without rerunning internal cables. It’s functional, if a little fugly 🤷

Do you need that much hose for the suspension fork or could you potentially trim it and then use a cable tie to tuck it away on the side of the steerer and behind the rigid fork?

Also keep an eye on the saddle angle when you change between the forks as I think it adds some extra stack on the front end!

Almost certainly not, but I've had my fill of brake bleeding for this week 😂

Nice setup. But just check if those tyre hairs are contacting the inside of the fork - they'll take off the paint if they do. Just trim them with a side cutter to be safe.

Took the Tideace out for some shakedown rides over the weekend.

Felt pretty amazing coming off a heavy steel bike. Very chuffed. Size 58 with alloy wheels and pedals etc. as pictured 10kg, not the lighest frame, but felt great

some protective tape on the inside of the fork is a must

What tyres are you all riding?
also going the wider MTB if your frames allow it?

Riding what I have at the moment.

Old 40mm kenda on the front and a 42 pathfinder on the back.

Frame will take 2.1 at the back and 2.2 in the front, will switch to something in that range later on when these are toast.
