I saw Louis was 1 of 4 riders that got the Guard of Honor at the start of Il Lombardia yesterday.

With all of the riders leaving IP, was hopefull he could get a ride their for another year or two.
If you had enough, its time. He can be proud of his career!

With both Maincheese and Gibbo hanging up their shoes end of the year, Hatherly will be our only WT representative.

Hopefully some new talent will show themselves soon.

Bit dissapointing that he signs off with a DNF, but he will surely go down as one of our greats. Had a quick squizz now, but as some sort of metric here is a list of Grand tour appearances, could be missing on or two here..

Impey - 11

Hunter - 17

Meintjes - 20

It's a long long time ago now, but must have been when on the MTNQ yellow team at TdF in 2015 - there was a photo of the team bus with LM in the foreground, in focus with a huge expectant smile. He looked like he was 16 yrs old and the caption was: "best school outing EVER!"

he even rode with this train for a year.

never forgetting this performance that really put him into the conversation, and I don't think anyone has come close since.

According to PCS the Giro is on the calander for Alan.

Apart from AH at the upcoming Giro, I do wonder who the next SA rider will be to do a grand tour?

main cheese did giro/vuelta last year, and 20 in total.

before that gibbons/de bod did a GT in 2024.

take your pick from this list, this might be the last time for a long time we have a rider at a grand tour.

Can only agree with you.

What is the chance of Modern Adventure getting an invite for Vuelta 2027?

We do have @J Wakefieldnot sure how his calendar look. Was thinking the other day, SA local cycling media can do a bit more and celebrate the South Africans that is industry leaders in cycling, there was an article in Escape few weeks back on both John and Mike, separate articles.
