Ali if there is anything that we as the cycling community can do to help him please let us know and thanks to the McLeans and the rest of the Cyclelab crew for looking after him so well.

slowpoke Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 my blood ran cold reading that description of the accident. my thoughts are with Ben and I've sent an sms. here's hoping he can resume a normal life soon. intern, anyone who read your first comment would be dof not to realise that you meant it in the best possible way - no it won't make up but it will make some things easier (eg medical costs, take-outs while he adjusts, etc) so yes, if a fund is started i'm willing to contribute.

Pantani Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 This is such a distressing story. I always have a laugh with Ben at The Lab. My first thought when I saw his head bandaged was that it was a small accident, but when Ali told me the story my blood ran cold. He really is a super guy...
Bionic man Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hey Ben, hope you feeling better now, I went through the same thing years ago (Stick through right eye) so know exactly what it is like. You get used to seeing with one eye only, can still cycle (scary at times), ride a car etc etc. If you have any queries please PM me. The HUB is a wonderful support group.
