I am looking at getting a new set of grips - mine are looking a bit worse for wear!

What would you recommend for stage type riding (read long!) mtb grips? Want something super comfy yet durable...

Thanks

What grips do you have on now? Why not get more of the same?

Ergon has an interesting range of grip. I am using the Enduro's - Jury is still out on whether I like them or not.

On-One lock on grips.
Where do you get these' date=' from Planet X[/quote']

One thing.. I have bee riding Lock ons for a year or so and recently at the 24 hour My hands took a real beating. One thing to remember Is that the rubber Is moulded onto the ridgid plastic  lock part. There is only about 2.5 mm of actual rubber on there.  so as soon as it starts wearing a bit It goes really hard (this happened to me in 2-3 months)

I now ride BMX grips..Go take a look at BMX shops if there arnt any at a local bike shop. most of the good quality ones sit very tight on the bar and once you get them on they really dont move.

and they come in the best colours!

I've put my straight bars back on for Sani. Instead of using the grips from my riser bars, I bought some cushioned roadie bar tape and applied that straight to the bars. Used it now for a couple of weeks and they feel great.

My current grips are Specialized Thin Lock-On Grip, dual density. By and large I am happy with them. The bike is just over a year old and they have worn thin and now offer no padding.

I just wanted to get the consensus on what everyone else was using.

Thanks for the comments so far - will weigh up my options!

do yourself a favour and get a set of SRAM X0 Twist grip shifters. Lighter than triggers, they are supplied with grips too, and are awesome. No unwanted shifts with knees bumping in steep technical stuff, they work great.

Rude not being funny but thats just ridiculous if people were to take your advice here it wouldnt just mean that they would go buy shifters and be done with it... What if he rides shimano derailers then it would mean he would have to go for a new rear derailer as well which in my opinion is a waste of time and money

The dude asked for grips not a LBS bill of at least R1000

Ok rant over i have had no issues with my aerozine lock on grips and they come with awesome coloured lock on bits to match your bike smiley4.gif
