TNT1 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 On more than one occasion I have discovered that I have left my legs at home. The problem with that is that you only find them missing about an hour or so into the race...
Bos Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 You left out 'front wheel'  Hey Pete! I was going to say that!! thinking of my ride Monday they should also add - LUCK- which I had none of on my ride with you on monday. Thug Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Was living in East London and riding Enduros at the time. Packed the motorbike on the trailer for a Provincial in King Williams Town, loaded the family and off we went. Arrive at the race, unpack everything and start to get dressed but hold on a sec, where the hell are my boots? Seems I'd left them at home so I conveniently blamed the wife. Â
TNT1 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Â Forgot to take a dump (sorry!) Â Worse is when you remember to take one, and then after 20minutes on the bike you realise there's seconds...Â

Pro-Funrider Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 My Bike!!!! Drive all the way to Vereeniging from Pretoria and ja well, what a shocker when I stopped there.
Woofie Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Timing chip  Ive done this before ......... twice I swore after the first time that I would never forget it again.  For the first race, I just went home, on the second race I wondered why I never heard the beep beep to look down in horror at my empty leg. What a bummer. That is one quick way to demotivate you for your ride.  Half way through the ride I decided to pull out of my slum and I made a huge solo effort to catch the next group in front of me. About 25 min later just as I caught them I got a flat and my previous group went past me. God was obviously teaching me something    I normally also carry two spare tubes with me on rides and on the burger I only had one tube. I thought it would all be fine until I got a flat in my starting pen. After rushing the repair and half inflating my tire I started 3 groups late. I then rushed off to my car - having already started - finished pumping with my foot pump - and then I had to get back to the race. By this time the next group had already come and gone. I pushed myself stupid to try and catch up and I eventually managed to finish very well in my group despite my huge time penalty. I can now see the value in two tubes and two bombs.   Â
