pastapouch Posted May 30, 2007 Share just thought of it, and ya I'm also guilty of it, the D*MN , fl*p@en, verd0mde sw**r words etc can also be done away with...
Guest Big H Posted May 30, 2007 Share On some of the larger messageboards they do not allow you to post a reply within 15 minutes. At first I was irritated by this but I do now see the merit in this. Many repiles are made in "anger" ( I cannot really get angry at faceless people.... can I??????) but by giving a "cooling down" period maybe this can be curtailed. linnega Posted May 30, 2007 Share In all fairness take most things with a pinch of salt. Absolutely - like the Chunky comment above. The problem only arises when people take personal attacks personally, and start to lash out. On a messageboard that quickly gets out of control as you can hide behind your avatar. Best though is to stamp out the personal attacks and kill the root of the problem.
AuctionLamb Posted May 30, 2007 Share I just think we must close this K@K topic... to chat for 14 pages about his crap is worthless!
Guest Big H Posted May 30, 2007 Share Just clarify is Fyndraai Chunky?????? If the moderators are now going to occupy the moral high ground then verrrry precise groundrules must be laid out. In the case of Chunky. He is a self confessed supplier (he said so on TV) drugs to children. Would a vicous foaming at the mouth attack on him be justified or would the so called "attacker" be banished into the darkest corners of messageboard hades???? ekke vra maar net?????? I post this message under duress and fear as I am scared I will be tied to the stake and burned!!!!!! Tee heee!!!!!!!
Genl de la Rey Posted May 30, 2007 Share Duidelik is hier groot fout. 14 Bladsye se postings begin deur een woede uitbarsting. Is daar absoluut geen goeie dinge rondom fietsry waarop julle die energie kon spandeer.
SwissVan Posted May 30, 2007 Share Hey guys some advice from a neutral Swissie <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Ignore their cr*p and they will die of rejection slowly but surely Most of us know and can see by a persons post if they are genuine or just trying to cause k*k, lately there seems to be an abundance of hubbers specializing in this phenomena. Resist the urge to take the bait and waste pointless posts arguing with these morons. Moderators if things do get out of hand with regards to common decency then you need to jump in early before things get out of hand.
Kritzie Posted May 31, 2007 Share Im for ignore the cr@p!!!!!!! I really love the Hub and now that I have met a few of you craaaazyyyy people out there its even more fun. Velouria Posted June 1, 2007 Share We are not the only forum having hassles:From keo.co.za State of the nation Friday 1 June 2007 To all who read and post in this community. This site was setup for the express purpose of discussing rugby andgiving fans a voice. The number of posters is growing and the opinionsbecoming more varied which is fantastic, if it was about rugby. Adifference of opinion is welcomed but not in the manner in which mostare presented. Last year i made a personal plea to this community asits moderator to clean up its use of language and the way each of uspresents our arguments. It is quite apparent that 99% of you areinherently incapable of that. The use of foul language to addressfellow posters based on a difference of opinion is the norm. Many feelobliged to reply and others wade in and so it goes.Politically and racially motivated discussion are becoming the normand individuals are arguing regardless of topic. We have had plenty ofrequests to stop publishing these stories but as a news organization wecannot simply ignore them, and we will continue to publish thesestories as they are relevant to the game in South Africa.I personally am sad to announce that the new list of rules is laidout below are the new norm, they will be strictly enforced and breakingthem will result in the loss of posting rights.Swearing in any form will no longer be tolerated. Misspellings included! Insulting of fellow posters and use of derogatory language. If a comment is held for moderation - ie if your email address shows up in the moderation list you will be banned. Trolling for reaction [ Google define:troll ] Posting of linksThanks Ig"
Canaris Posted June 1, 2007 Share Okay, so we all have been flamed on this forum when we have typed something stupid or inane. Yeah, we build up perceptions without meeting people. An eyeopener is when you actually meet the people from the hub and realise that they are also PEOPLE and not typing machines. Just as you get peaved when you were teased at school or at work, somehow you get over it and live another day. (Others just LUV the abuse and keep on coming back for more- no names here). If we all undertake to moderate our own postings and be vocal when we see things we don't like then all this nonsense- 14 pages of drivel- could have been pervented. Crux thanks for bursting the bubble.
