Very well spoken BigH....I could not have said it better myself even if I tried.

Seems like there are more statements to make than actual cycling........Soloist is a good choice........or is it Slowest??? ah anyway u know what I mean !!!

Hey guys, whats with this having a go at people for spending money on their passion. Is it a bit of jealousy?

I was in Dubai in December riding with Cliffie Steward when he was knocked of his bike and killed. Life is to short to not to enjoy every moment. I say if you've worked hard enough to afford it, BUY IT!

Agree with Bruce there, for more flatter races, take the soloist, as we don't have real climbs for a lightweight bike here. And after the aero , position... position... positions. And since someone mentioned Trek here, speaking in weight terms, I think they're very heavy. wHAT DO YOU GUYS think? Got hold of a 5900 this weekend at ITU race, and it felt heavier than my Soloist ALU Centaur?

If you have a lot of money to spend AND you are a amazinly gifted cyclists who earns it get a Cervelo. If not go and buy one of the secondhand TREK's that was last years fashion statement' date=' but .................. if Koos Makathini on a black thickwheel Hercules with a three speed and drum brakes wins the Tour de France this year, expect the price of those bikes to rise sharply and a flood of old Cervelo's available VERY cheaply in Junkmail!!!!!!!!!

[/quote'] Nope, won't happen, Cervelo is the experts on tri bikes, and nothings gonna beat that. Even the Soloists performs excellent on a tri setup. No waysmileys/smiley7.gif

Cervelo you dreaming!!

My Trek SL 5.9 with standard Bontrager X lite wheels weighs 7.1kg(54cm).

Put a set of carbon wheels on it and It will drop below the UCI limit!!smileys/smiley2.gif

Hi there Guys

I got my R 3, 2 weeks ago and wow..... This bike makes a huge difference , it is very snappy and responsive, i was lucky my girfriend got me zipp 303 wheels, and that completed the bike. One thing is for sure , if you can afford to buy a new bike you wont go wrong buying a Cervelo, There is only one thing that i need to do is TRAIN HARDER, my bike will only help me go so far and fastsmileys/smiley1.gif

To quote something I read last week "my bike is lighter than a fart & more expensive than a divorce" smileys/smiley36.gif

My Trek is definitely NOT heavy... it comes in lighter than Jason's Soloist even with my Triple. smileys/smiley17.gif  One thing I am amazed at is how Jason cruises downhill on that thing, absolutely wicked speed...

Life's too short to ride cheap bikes!! (Isn't that from a de rosa advert or something? smileys/smiley36.gif)

Cervelo young man, a Tri Bike is a specialist bike.... we are NOT talking about tri bikes. The new Raleigh to be released soon will take that market segment away from Cervelo in any case.

Michelle, will an expensive bike make you perform better? Since you have had the new Trek are you now competing in the Elite ladies? If not you wasted your money on a "nice to have" item. A retirement annuity would have served you better. Expensive egoistic trips are a twisted set of values.

[/quote'] Agreed, but the soloist can be used for TT. And thats why its my choice. Raleigh will need to get into that, and I don't know if they will go that way. Simon Lessing won an Ironman on a Soloist last year. In a field including specialised TT bikes. And as a TT bike or Road, its excellent. And thats why I dont believe you'll see cheap Cervelos in the junkmail. So druk dit in jou pyp en rook dit OOM H.smileys/smiley1.gif

Big H some harsh words there mate but looking at it from a buyers/individuals perspective...I get the idea here one only live once so why not...take Ewep for example...he just bought a brand new Specialised which cost him a pretty darn penny.....Agreed that "some" buy for show and can hardly ride the bike to save their lives.....a lighter bike in my opinion is all good and well but it pays no dividents if U WEIGH A TON....NO light bike is gonna make U go faster if U can't ride properly.........

"Expensive egoistic trips are a twisted set of values"-Be that as it may "some" will always look for the lightest bike/component to save a few grams here and there finally adding up....Let 'em buy...they live once......lets all just get along & ride our bikes.....

BIG H, we all know you the seriously twisted one here! ping couchpotato

Like Colin said, if you're jealous you jealous and yes Michelle does ride with the elites now... She has a bit to learn but that will come in time... don't we all learn and you're never to old to learn... you will always learn something until the day you die!

Michelle also kicked your BIG a$$ in the Argus... not bad for someone that's been cycling for a couple of months and it was her first Argus as well. You can't say that you've cracked 4 hours now can you?

The wicked BIG from Moz... now let me wait for another boring lecture from you!!! Your posts bore me to death.
