My Top Personal Achievement in Cycling for 2010 is...

Managed to climb three of cycling's most hallowed climbs this year.

Mont Ventoux in a howling Mistral

Alpe D'Huez (as part of "La Marmotte")

De Muur (van Geraardsbergen - Ronde van Vlaanderen)

What remains after you have done that?!

Brass Town Bald after a 160km stage over some seriously rugged country.

Oh, and doing those climbs at speed!

I would not dare to try to follow you on that killer ride! Any ride done at speed is a killer.

My list is more of a list of classic climbs where the heart and soul of cycling was shaped that I've always had on the todo list. A pilgrimage of sorts...

I still have some classic Pyranean and Italian climbs on my list, but I'll leave them for another time!

ok, not half as impressive as some of these posts, but I was quite happy to just finish Panorama Tour and my first Transbaviaans :)

Transbaviaans? Pretty impressive in my book! Well done

Have now been cycling a year, first race was OFM Classic on my mtb, since then...Did my 1st Argus, finished my first Transbaviaans, and shaved an hour of my time on the OFM Classic(this time on a road bike) after doing the 65km mtb on the Saturday :)

I'm really hoping you are blonde? I am female. I really didn't think that posting that fact twice in one post (and for that matter anywhere on the hub) was neccessary.

 .... Classic case of jumping the gun, wonder if an apology will be forthcoming. ;)

Old hat to you does not mean it is not impressive!

I'm just glad that I've done more bike rides than falls this year :D

Did my maiden (introductory) MTB ride in August this year 20k's (2nd), and the bug bit. Did 7-dams (12k, 1st), Boertjiefees (20k, 1st), Crater cruise (56km, 12th in category  next year the 103km), Mokala (80km, 5th overall :o what an experience... ), Erfenis (70km, 10th another great learning curve race for me). Would like to attempt some multi-stage races next year. All this was achieved on a Dual suspension MTB weighing in @ 16.98kg with front and rear coil spring suspension.

Had a blast these past 4 and a half months :D , cannot wait, at last after saving up am getting a decent Dual Suss-er end of December...

Maybe not quite "riding all the way up Everest on a bike" .....

i was there - not to the top, just to basecamp - that's the hill there in the background :)

<_< Still cant think of a single achievement :(

Wrong! Every time we ride its an achievement, we could be porky tjops laying around on the beer all day talking rubbish to our mates and believing our own lies!

So ja, one ride is always an achievement!

Mine was entering the Magalies Monster (as a first time competitor), not completing the 70km ride and keeping on cycling so I can try again next year!
