  3. Yes it is expensive, but, and it's a big but, the logistics to arrange these races are immense. Plus, the organisers earn a living from this so they have to make a profit as well.
  4. Trucks and drunk drivers. Make sure you have proper lights so a vehicle can see you from far away.
  5. Everything was perfect this year. Thanks PPA! It also helps that we don’t share a race with any scholars who doesn’t know how to hold a line or roll through. That in itself reduces any risk to fall by 90%.
  6. It's easier to get sponsors for goody bags when the pool of potential customers are so much bigger.
  7. 21000 runners vs maybe 500 riders....
  8. Yip, cancel all outdoor riding plans for Sunday. I've just watched the Vox prediction for Sunday and it's going to be windy and wet.
  9. I'm glad this thread has been created. I'm done with Garmin's crap quality straps that last 3 months before the glue does not glue anymore. I thought the next option is a Wahoo. Seems not. What is the other alternative?
  10. I have a Sigeyi, no issues and I like the rechargeable battery. It compares spot on with a 4iii and Quarq.
  11. For more context, how did the current Argus record holder do in whichever TDF and Giro the record holder in question participated?
  12. Here is your 0 octane rocket fuel doing it's job
  13. Pogi didn't win the race, the others lost it while looking at one another deciding who will ride in front. He took a huge gamble and the bickering helped him. He was the only one who was willing to take the risk to see how it plays out.
  14. That wind is easy peasy if you are used to cycling in Bellville in the south easter
  15. If you do road right then it will make you a better mountain biker. The secret is to never stop peddling. Don’t sit at the back smelling the roses.
  16. I bought a Kickr because I heard that the support from the suppliers is the best compared to the rest. You can opt for an Eagle NX cassette which will be a straight fit onto the Kickr.
  17. Back in the day when I started cycling I started with a Trek Y3. You start off by riding easy trails etc then you progress then you realise you need tubeless tyres and wheel. The bicycle was worth R3000 back in 2016. Now after spending R1500-R1800 on two tyres and another R2000k on getting the bike trail ready the bike is still worth R3k after the R3,5k of mods. Then I saw this kite isn't going to fly, money in the water...
  18. And show me options for LOW cost tubeless wheel conversions. They don't exist.....
  19. I hear you and I hear you and I feel the pain as well. The problem with a 26'' is to find tubeless rims and tubeless tyres for reasonable amounts of money. Just doing a tubeless conversion costs more than the value of the bike which is not viable in my opinion.
  20. I do. Parts will eventually become scarce. It's a matter of time.
  21. I'd wait till a disc brake version pops up. Rim brakes are on it's way out, like a 26'' MTB.
  22. Tech this and weight that for crazy amounts of money.😭 I'll buy better legs from them when they start selling that!
  23. Enters a gravel race and then complain about the gravel surface..... That's the gamble you take when buying a gravel bike. You never know what you are going to get. Gravel surfaces change daily due to the elements and vehicles using it. It's not a tar road that stays constant.
