  1. A club doesn’t have clients. It’s not a business. It’s a club. The SGM was the planned approved forum where explanations were offered for the increase in fees. If one doesn’t attend meetings or sign proxies with conditions attached to it it means one agrees with the rest of the decisions made.
  2. The increase was definitely explained at the SGM which no one attended (based on all other AGM’s i.e properties, other clubs etc). I’m sure the minutes of the meeting will be available soon. It’s a pity that no one made any noises when the SGM was advertised i.e trying to gather more attendees to vote to keep the fee increase within inflation. I find it offensive that some members openly dish the club and decisions made when there was a perfectly open forum available last week to do it. It’s a privilege to be able to use the trails so we musn’t upset the landowners unnecessarily. They don’t need any more negativity posted all over the net.
  3. LOL at all the moaners. Go and join Durbanville Golf Club, you’ll pay a few thousand for 6km worth of “track” to enjoy. My membership pays for itself just by the discount the various places in the area offer for members. @ the moaners. Do you understand the sheer magnitude of costs associated to owning land not even mentioning the manhours and expenses related to maintaining trails? Do you realise what the membership fees would be if the club had to buy the 140km trails? Do you realise that 5 phone calls can cancel all the access to the farms? Have you been to the SGM sharing your concerns? Obviously not. I wasn’t there as well but I was at the AGM this year and guess what, out of 6000 or so members there were maybe 30 members saying their say. If R800 bucks a year or just over R2 per day is too much then rather cycle on the road where it’s free. Even if the fees are R2000 it’s still a bargain. I cannot even build a ramp at my house for R2000.
  4. And the City is becoming more and more useless at keeping law and order. They'll rather set up speed traps than remove the squatters next to the N1 between Plattekloof and Durban Road who's been living there for 3 months already.
  5. So much for the security guards. Useless bunch!
  6. The registration terms cost them my entry.

  11. This please: https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/kmc-x12-1-12-spd-chain-np-nickel Why don't you have GX chains or Guide RS brake pads in stock?
  12. X1 and GX > XT. It shifts smoother and faster.
  13. Has someone tested the KMC 12 speed chain? How does it compare to a SRAM GX chain?
  14. Same on my Fuel EX 9.8. It comes and goes though, as if there is play when it’s in lockout as if it’s not completely locked.
  15. The idea behind the push derailleur trigger is that you can operate it while you are braking. You'll get used to it, when I got a new bike from Shimano to Sram it took me an hour max and I was used to it. I'll put on a 2.3 XR 3 at the front. My EX9.8 has the 2.4's and they are heavy. I'm ditching them as soon as they are used up.
  16. The only negative I have on the Trek Ex 9.8 are the pos SRAM brakes. They are not comparable to anything from Shimano.
  17. Well this is good business. If you are willing to part with your property for a figure less than market value it's your problem. That's why there are so many used car dealers in SA. They buy for a good price, take some risk and then make some profit.
  18. 2019 models are launching soon.....
  19. It’s not about the bike, more the legs and the head on the bike
  20. Not sure about 3rd, but 2nd place was on a mtb.
  21. Fair enough, but 60km or 3 hours into the race is too soon compared to previous riding at a higher pace above 4 hours.
  22. Snotty nose, no phlegm, no coughing and no abnormal heart rate.
  23. I’m raising this thread from the grave. I’m on 2200km for the year and yesterday at the 100miler my legs started cramping at 60km. I’ve done a few rides above 60km’s this year, most notably the Bouckhaert Soenen 122km in February. That day my ave speed was 27km/h with my mtb. Fast forward to yesterday, I’ve never experienced this before and I’m trying to find the reason for the cramps. All my fluid/solids intake was the same as every other ride, actually a bit more yesterday as I new it was a long way. I’m definitely not unfit as well, I can run a sub 50 minute 10km. I had a light flu this past week, took some Benylin 4 in 1 and Viral Choice until Friday morning. Has someone else on here also experienced cramping after flu? No luck with google so far. Only other reason could be a new larger frame bike, but it doesn’t make sense or could it be?
