  1. You can fall anywhere anytime. As evidence by the numerous almost KIA's at Hoogies. Rather wear protection kids.
  2. So...put it all back together. New red valves too... It's overkill colour scheme, but it's evolved that way. And yes.,..the 2.35 Mary is Wider than the 2.6 Slaughter on my 30mm internal width rims. But the slaughter looks sick, much nicer than the old 2.3 version. All in all looking damn fine if I may say so myself and ready for Kingdom Enduro next week..although I think there will be a customary full brake bleed before...
  3. Tonight
  4. Just rebuilt wheels at Stoke yesterday, thanks a million to Droo. The tosser who built the wheels previously (no names mentioned...here) used all alu nipples (against my request or level of knowledge at the time) as well as 75% of the spokes being TOO long. Droo sorted this out ASAP... And now for FRESH rubber which went onto them last night in preparation for Kingdom Enduro next week. Magic Mary 2.35 Supergravity up front 2.6 Specialized Slaughter GRID rear with FOAMO as well...Takign no chances. LOVE the old Slaughter and the new wider one (which is not particularly wide IMHO) has ever so slightly higher centre knobs and feels way tackier so very much looking forward to playing around on it!
  5. 13mm now with the CC BD Coil IL and 160mm up front. Either in neutral or slack on the dropouts. As said...SAG is JUST a starting point.
  6. They're also made of cheese...
  7. I just ask WHY the alloy nipples!?
  8. Seeing as this thread is rather slow...her's an updated pic of the 2016 Spitty beauty
  9. pics of the jump line? As above, havent tried it yet. Moved house the weekend it opened So no longer live on majik
  10. looooool It's not that bad. The take-off's are not nearly as steep as traditional dirt jumps. Grow a pair n go try it (says me who hasn't gone to make a turn yet ) The bloody Tygerberg trails need SOME tech stuff. Not another blerry Morondull
  11. Ya they are available here, but cheaper and simpler to get from CRC. Order Monday morning with DHL, have in hands Wednesday afternoon Self service is easy and Droo at Stoke knows his way around mine so no worries there either.
  12. Get a Mattoc 2 PRO with IRT air spring side tune...half the price of a Piek and kicks arse!!!
  13. Guys, lets just be honest...it's not all about getting the best performing bike... We all like to bloody tinker and personalise our machines.... Some things just feel better to one person. Does that mean they are better...not necessarily. But that doesn't matter When i first rode the Spitfire, it felt WAY better than my Pyga. Now I have a Banshee. Is it better than the Pyag? Yes! Is it heavier than the Pyga...? YES! Would I swap...? Fok0ff
  14. I'm too scared of needles for he weigh loss performance upgrades
  15. this...the trufe!!!
  16. Ya this whole "carbon bikes are lighter" *** that is perpetuated in this industry. Carbon frames are not necessarily significantly lighter than alu or steel. It's totally dependent on what the manufacturer designed the properties of the part to be.
  17. You can ride the whole park in a day. Or most of it easily in a morning.
  18. Don't be daft. Okes love to misinterpret or over interpret comments like this. But people who consider themselves experienced enough to enter a multi-day stage race which is WIDELY knows to have some really good singeltrack should be able to ride the very basic trails that are given to them to ride.
  19. Exactly...which is what you should also be able to do on some singletrack around a berm. Withough having to 1-foot hop hop hop around a corner on a 10 degree decline
  20. as was Wines to Whales last year ... And the sections that weren't were full of idiots who don't know how to ride a MOUNTAIN bike...
  21. Oh no! Not innovation! Not change! My poor Strava KOM's! Yes they belong. They're in the spirit of true mtb riding anyway. Chill chat and rip it on some ST on the way down with your mates.
  22. And? You really find it being irritating in your vision? perhaps my eyes sit lower down on my head
  23. Yeah have tried the inner tightening mechanism adjustment and will give the pads a go as well to see. I wonder why people moan about the visor though...
  24. Having ridden since shortly after they landed in RSA...The visor is NOT problem in the slightest. However the lid is a little front heavy and has a slight tendency to want to flop downward if not tightned. Which so far has only been marginally irritating. Mostly only though when landing off drops while wearing sunglasses.
  25. All of them...the point is this... Is there any detriment to dropping the saddle further? Not in my mind. So why pay money for a 100mm drop post when you can pay the same for the 150mm one which is far more versatile? When it gets very steep you notice the lack of travel. I would struggle to go back to my 125mm dropper. That's nonsensical.
