  1. Yep...this is not a marathon bike and putting a 120mm fork on it would hurt its soul...Any re-seller allowing that should have their licence revoked
  2. Then there is THIS,..... http://www.mbr.co.uk/videos/watch/watch-luke-strobel-win-a-downhill-race-on-a-29er-trail-bike
  3. You mean the 1l for R300 or so?
  4. I was pondering it, but man I stopped pondering and now have obviously not saved to go this year
  5. Lol...tis not about being fearless... I am very very very far from fearless. But holy **** it was actually pathetic that people physically capable of riding that race had such little technical skill Yes cos all the dirt roadies climb hills like mountain goats or were better seeded
  6. Crashing is good for you man. I took one as well...300m from the end If you didn't break anything or get seriously hurt then who cares. Often though people fall because they are going TOO slowly to actually even roll over obstacles/etc, or break suddenly and get people (aka almost ME and 2 riding partners) riding into the back of them
  7. Oh and some more dirt road we can't usually ride...which I walked a fari bit of anyway
  8. Who'd anyone say is best to go to in Cape Town? I have a great guy in Sommerset, but he's only available in office hours...and well work and all means I cannot get around there to drop off or pickup
  9. I ride them trails all the time..This 45km felt incredibly tough, but perhaps I just had an off-day. The entry fee really was over the top for what one got...or didn't get. And every time I do one of these races I am astounded at the lack of skill of people when things go into the negative gradient. People must be going through brake pads at a hell of a rate Even the super tame decent into Hillcrest from the top of Contermans peeps were on their brakes constantly. And why they put us on the top section of the blue at Contermans and then proceeded to cut out the bottom section in favour of more dirt road I don't know. But alas I need to get used to racing and being tuck behind people as W2W is coming up later
  10. I removed...didn't read the clip part initially...doh!
  11. Yep, was end of the day and besides...predator kit was overkill...but helps the mind
  12. Its the bottom of the DH line (I think). The main DH line had tape acropss it at the start so didn't ride in from there but on the enduro? trail..First time there so not super sure.
  13. Hahaha that IS me
  14. Dude, send me a PM sometime, thinking of heading back in 2 weekends time for a day out
  15. I'm riding tomorrow if ya keen...and 2 weeks time would like to Shuttle Paarl again
  16. Not the best photo, but had an awesome day out at Paarl today on my OneTwenty
  17. Not the best photo, but had an awesome day out at Paarl today on my OneTwenty
  18. Yo man I'll be riding em too...look out for a black Pyga OneTwenty and gimme some ***
  19. Yeah part of the enduro stages
  20. Already way ahead of you on that front. But one cannot always do a long ride after work. And main Bloemendayl seems so wasted. Bloemendaaler is pretty dodgey at the moment. Passed some dude on there the other day and he looked terrified Even Conties only has the black as a technical line. The blue is just as tame as Bloemendal's Lombards. Anyway, perhaps the reason RSA technical MTB skills are in general pretty *** is because our trails are in general way too chilled, but that's a discussion for another thread
  21. Yeah you can...the main trail is there...add some devil runs with rock gardens, alternative bigger jumps, one carries enough speed on Lombards that it would be wicked
  22. You mean that "roll-in" that all the dirt roadies poop themselves for and go over at 0.1 km/hr? Na man...it's great for beginners. My favourite part...the "illegal" stuff built by the local kids in Majik!
  23. Lombards is basically a tar road at the moment. There is no nice technical trail at Bloemendal at all Fun yes...as fun as it could be...not a chance
  24. Dude, Stoke Suspension in Observatory here in CT. Not sure on cost, but those dudes will not rip you off and their workmanship is super!
  25. If it's like my old Lyrik from 2010 it'll be burly as **** Waaaay more than a Rev
