38 = The oldest to ever win a stage at the Giro. Several years too since the win for the Kazakhstan-sponsored team. Would he have won without the assist of Geraint Thomas? Who cares. What a confidence-boosting stage win in Rome (surprisingly only the 4th time or something the Giro finishes there).

I suspect that Roglič and Thomas will be crossing swords again at the Vuelta; maybe co-leadership again with Geoghegan who is calling himself “fatty” while recovering in hospital after quite lengthy surgery on his hip area (hmmm, as I am typing that I am not sure he will be ready in time; then again medical wonder and relative youth and the best of rehab?)

What rider depth for Jumbo-Visma - losing 5 in the final week before the Giro, ending on 8, yet winning the maglia rosa. Meanwhile, 3 weeks and a bit before taper time for the Tour de France…

I think they mentioned that the Giro will finish in Rome for the next few years to come, maybe even become a tradition like Paris at the TDF.

Was very special and a great spectacle for the whole world, great for cycling too !

  2. I've had my Garmin 510 for over 10 years and its still going strong.................I bought a 530 from a friend as I need the Navigation recently, lets see what happens.......

  3. Buy a good quality 3 or 4 bike rack carrier ( here in ZA you can buy a Thule through Volvo at a discounted price )

I have 2 riding buddies who live close to me, and we venture out into the countryside on Saturday mornings in search of gravel roads for gravel grinding .We all have the same setup and we all take  turns to fetch and carry everybody else. This way there is never arguments about costs etc. and no one is a sponger..............even the coffee and beers are sorted in this manner !

My wife is riding together with Chantal ... they agreed to wait a bit for the wind to die and then go to Britstown.

The plan was to start at 4 again but seems they are still at WP4

Is your wife's tracker still working? Has not moved all day, I hope all is ok......................

  6. Very enjoyable ride, we ( a group of 7 ) did it earlier in the year and I prefer the reverse route since you get the 15 km sandy / corrugated section over with after the first waterpoint instead of at the end when you hot and tired. No issues whatsoever, this route is also longer at 143 km and even though its flat you work hard
