  1. If you ride in the drops a lot with an MTB helmut, you might end up with a stiff neck, from constantly trying to look up under the peak. Yes I think MTB helmuts should have peaks. I see a few companies market road helmuts as "gravel" ones. I do think you "need" one though...

I use a mtb helmet without a peak for this reason........
  2. You said that right. There's a group of 4 riders at the tail who are digging deep and refusing to let that little b*stard green cut line get away from them (including Chantal, Markus and Derek). They're out on some nasty rocky single track before WP8, with patches of deep sand - and they're doing it in the dark. Respect, Send them some love folks

My brother in law Vaughn is slogging away just ahead of that group........
  3. I had them on my Momsen R355 gravel bike..........not happy at all ! Punctured many times, even on tar twice during the 94.7 last year !

I took them off and replaced with WTB................no punctures yet in almost a year and fantastic grip and handling

  4. I have mild gout and was on puricos for a few years, hardly ever had an attack and when i could feel it starting on my left toe I would take an anti-inflammatory and zapped it.

I do not like the idea of swallowing tablets every morning for the rest of my life even though doctors insist there are no side effects, so I switched to taking apple cider vinegar every morning just before my espresso ( its been over a year now )..............have not had any problems at all, not even a hint of one starting. I am still careful of what I eat and drink and stay away from the no-no list cheating only once in a blue moon.

  5. Since it’s Friday.

To all the people out there proudly sporting their Fox or whatever branded gear with a big logo on it, here’s my question.

Why did you pay +- R2500 for your riding kit to advertise the brand for free. You just turned yourself into a walking billboard.

I don’t do this with casual or riding kit... why are you?

You would be singing a different tune if you actually had a brand of your own and people where buying it

  6. At my previous place of work, the Technical Manager was from Serbia, and he said Croatia was more Italian than Slovenia - mostly because the holiday destination in Croatia was more popular and investment in Croatia for cheaper labour. Out of interest, the Fererro Rocher packaging is made in Croatia (the cup and gold foil).

Serbia was more aligned to the Hungarian/Bulgarian/Romanian/Turkish way of life - religion and beliefs perspective.

Serbia was also the big cheese and Capital city of the old Yugoslavia............
