    A well sorted Trance with Pike etc will be enough for most. I have spent a fair amount of time on both and my opinion is that if you are planning on doing proper jumps like at Black hill, bombing downhill runs or on the heavier side the extra beef on the Reign certainly makes me feel more comfortable. The Trance could definitely do it but not quite as well and you would be pushing it. Just like how the Reign would not be my choice for a very long trail ride which again, it could do just fine but the Trance would be better.

    Bronson is a great choice if you got the budget. Plenty cheaper options though.

    Props to Silverback for developing such a bike. Not only the 279 thing but the factory long travel hard tail bike shows that they are with the times and prepared to innovate. This may just be a bike for me to do the longer distance rides on. Currently have single speed NS and the Reign. Neither are decent for 50km... I really miss doing the Argus and long peninsula rides which I did once a month or so but keeping a nice HT XC bike for that was a waste. This bike I could use daily for commuting and riding table mountain and other trails in my back yard.

    I concur. Briefly ridden one and it was super good. Unless you jumping the bigger stuff or are particularly heavy it is a great trail fork. A lot of people overlook it and go for the super cool 'Pike' when in reality it is overkill. My 2c, could be wrong.

    Quite a few international riders are down to shoot a new film and for the Night Harvest. GRTP is building a few MASSIVE jumps for them..

    Just to provide closure to this thread. I decided on a 2015 Trance 2 + Dropper + Dual Position Pike (130 - 160)

    Very well may be so but I am getting gatvol of waiting. This itch needs to be scratched haha. I've been waiting for months already. How much "bike" will I lose by going for a Trance + Pike + Flow EX? Only an inch or less travel at the rear and trance should be a much better climber.

    Thanks for informative reply! The 2014 SX is also OD2 though. Like I said if I can get an "old" 2014 sx for a bargain then I would do so but I dont see that happening. Please send me the details on the 2nd hand advanced! Always worth a look. Unfortunately I have sold my old dual sus so I need to buy a complete bike. A Pyga is simply way to expensive and TBH its not my first choice anyway even if I had the money.
