  1. Then I would get the 29" Scott or 29" Anthem X.
  2. If medium is your size just buy that bike. I ride an Anthem X and enjoy it very much, cost me over R22k new though so that's a bargain. It will give you more enjoyment than any 29er hardtail.
  3. As the others have said that little 25l one is all you need. - Close the shut-off valve at the compressor - Set the regulator at the compressor to 4 bar - Run a short hose from the compressor over the valve ( I use 8mm pneumatic pipe with a quick connector on one end) - Open the shut-off valve The tyre will rapidly inflate to 4 bar. If it's not inflating check that the tyre bead is not sitting to one side of the valve.
  4. Good post. Perhaps he just got burnt while looking for a bargain and these were isolated items. Let's not be hypocrites here, our eyes also light up when we see a bargain. We don't have enough info to know if he purposefully bought stolen goods or made a mistake. The sooner he comes and explains his side of the story the better for him.
  5. If the bloke was selling stuff that he bought from a tik addict for R100 at market related prices it's nothing like one person unknowingly buying a stolen item.

But is seems as though he has enough good thread left, it's just the entry portion of the thread that's damaged. So it shouldn't need to be sleeved?
  7. cptmayhem has explained this well. The options get eliminated very quickly once you answer some basic questions. - Is your budget less than R10 000? Then no need to worry about the grade of carbon or the suspension linkage design, choose your colour. - Do you have friends that share a touring in wet weather culture with you? If not you don't have to worry about gear hubs. - If your favourite part of riding is 4ft drops you're not looking at a hard tail. It's normally clear within a few seconds more or less what kind of bike the rider needs. A rider could now be left pondering between a 4" dual suspension or a 5" dual suspension and that's the kind of question that would be answered by testing bikes in a perfect world. And that is something I don't mind paying R400 for. I paid £40 to test a rigid 29er with an Alfine hub for a day in the UK a few months back and if I go back I will definitely be taking an All Mountain bike to Leith Hill for £40 because I will never own such a bike. So maybe there's a business idea, get a bit of a fleet together so people can experience the bikes. That will be an awesome service.
  8. Browsed that Leadville results list and I see Ben and Eric Bostrom placed fairly high up. Used to enjoy watching them in their superbike days.
  9. Ag nee OP you must be joking with this new offer. Here is some advice for you. Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - CS Lewis Our sport is a simple one.
  10. Probably about a million years and that's the point. He overcame adversity, he didn't look for a shortcut.
  11. Goeie .... That must be the nicest MTB in SA at the moment.
  12. I don't understand why the LBS isn't allowed to model it's overhead recovery on a combination of - the mark up on the merchandise - the workshop charge out It keeps labour rates and shop floor prices reasonable. If he has to charge labour as though that's his only income or mark up products as though that's the only income the prices won't be competitive. He has to offer both these services so he balances them out. - Why should the labour be free then if you buy the part? - I can understand that the business model is compromised if you expect the subsidised labour rate and don't buy the part.
  13. How's this for journalists trying to get water from a stone http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/current/video_audio/576046.html
  14. +1
  15. I don't want to influence you into a rash decision and compromise your Windows 95 installation but I had no problems with version 4.
  16. When I view the site on my phone it always takes me to my last read post on a thread. Is there any way I can get this in the desktop version?
  17. Maybe try Netscape Navigator then
  18. I read that in Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Brilliant book.
  19. Cool anything less than 4 years makes you the preferred supplier on this thread.
  20. How long will it take to get me ready for the olympics. I don't want to wait 4-6 years.
  21. If you're offering a service explain the service and give the cost. Justify the cost in relation to the service you offer, not the cost of the epic as done by team Specialized. This offer reads a bit like it will cost R3000 to inflate your Ferrari tyre but it's a bargain because otherwise your R4 000 000 car is worthless.
