  1. I’ve used both and the Silvia is a better machine for sure. Another competitor in this space is the Oscar, I may have a lead on one in the next week or so. If you keen let me know! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the punt V12! Just roasted the next batch again...
  3. Now to sell that Yeti....
  4. I’m sure I’ve seen it at koldserve and possibly at importalia! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. So what machine do you have?
  6. How often you setting up the K30, once they get a bit older they a pain.. always moving! Your G3 (gs3) i presume... manual as in? Paddle...my favorite config of a Gs3! My next step is Linea 1 group (Not mini) monolith flat (*Unattainable but a pipe dream)
  7. We have the same ideas on grinders... Not much in that range but also not bad just out.. The only one I disagree on is the sette... Its had some issues! I was dead set on one until the issues started cropping up! Would have sold my Mazzer in a heartbeat to fund it.
  8. if you can stretch... https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/mahlkonig-vario-home-coffee-grinder?variant=15154689540 if you can't: https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/baratza-encore-conical-burr-coffee-grinder?variant=18764048452 https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/rancilio-rocky-espresso-grinder
  9. Sadly cant ship it... looks like coke!
  10. Buy some cafiza or similar coffee detergent, if you in JHB Central or South I can give you some in a bag. Works a treat.
  11. Look for a rancilio silvia and grinder, the best home set up to start with in my opinion!
  12. V12 has the right advice as always.. Leave the cheapie machines and master some manual brew, you will certainly have a better coffee experience!
  13. If anyone as a 947 rhythm run ticket going please let me know!
  14. That guy who is using that glue, usually uses Titebond 3 but for the price he reckons the Gelmar product is right up there...
  15. Also sailed an oppie for a few years, loved that thing!
  16. I learned to sail in a dabbie, what a fab little boat! I learnt in cubs as well! Went to own a few boats and catamarans... great times!
  17. Thirdspace is great, Ben is a very good roaster and puts a lot of care and effort into the coffee! Worth a visit for sure!

  19. Great profile pic!
  20. This... All of this.. All the time!
  21. Only on some of their frames do they use 853, otherwise its just normal 4130 with a silly name.. like everyone else lol
  22. The biggest thing for me is the cost vs perceived quality... Cotic make a steel frame out of the same stuff as on-one but charge twice as much for it, their frames are not all made in the UK any longer so that argument is moot. Love their frames, cant justify the price. Pipedream is a good option as well for UK designed steel...
