I was warming up to meet my training group this morning and was inside the yellow shoulder on the way to Cape Town stadium. Then the TV channel switched and I was flung somewhere and, getting up, I couldn’t see the car. The rear view mirror and fender guard left behind on the scene was off a Renault Kwid, not many of them around.
I am privileged to have an excellent health care network around me and hope to fully recover - very eina right leg, fractured ribs and scrapes and bruises, fortunately my spine and brain intact.
I am a lucky man. Please send healing vibes, Peoples.💛
This is hectic, be grateful you alive. All the best with your recovery
Thank you all for the valuable feedback
Have a great weekend

Thank you, this would be on a weekend. We from the southern suburbs looking to ride that side for a change. I know many cycle from soneike in kuilsriver but I would like to avoid kayamandi
Any opinions or advice on the following route, park at waterstone village and use the R44 into Stellenbosch then Helshoogte through to Franshoek
Bad idea / Good idea ?
I'm aware of the risks of Helshoogte but any other suggestions
Thanks

Not funny though, one of our club members drives for uber and was hijacked thrice already

and we were there like 11am yesterday, surely that should have had more stock.
I was there at 6pm and the shelves were packed, perhaps they were still waiting on stock

the flee market guys with the show cleaners and the massage devices irritates the crap out of me as I walked up and down a few times whilst waiting for my mate to finish flirting with anything in a skirt.
I did find some incredibly comfortable gloves at Vye, just a bit much for me to spend right now even with their “20%” discount. But they are on my shopping list.
it was 2 boxes for R100 it was never going to last...........
AND definitely agree with those shoe cleaner guys, also had solar panel guys hassling us

This has always been the rule, and its communicated so much beforehand

Question.
Has anyone tried doing a substitution at registration? I wanna buy a ticket off someone. They saying I just need to take the letter on Saturday to expo.
Expo only starts tomorrow
1 hour ago, Old school said:Can one still buy a entry from from someone else not riding and be able to get it seeded to your own seeding?
the info video they posted said no substitutions at the expo
4 minutes ago, The Ouzo said:would they not then be going in the opposite direction to the longer route ? or are you thinking of routing them another way to llundudno and then joining the long route back ?
no idea but yeah they were limited with options to be honest
20 minutes ago, peepeekaitjie said:that's how you get them to come back next year
by hurting them...........lol.......should've gone round to llundudno in my opinion
5 minutes ago, The Ouzo said:Hospital bend going into town is no joke, especially when you are unfit, have just climbed ou Kapse weg in the blistering heat, didnt get the tail wind you hoped for on the blue route to recover, and now you have to climb Hospital bend to get back to the finish.
M3 from Constantia up to Wynberg hill is already insane
I really hope short entry people know their route.......because that doesn't sound like a fun ride to me
Every forum I have ever being on has this same issue from video games to cars and motorcycles
Kinda sad to see it also happens here on the cycling page but I guess its just business
Everyones trying to survive so buying and selling is a genuine hustle

I am the Head Of Operations for the 99er. We are always looking for comments and feedback after our race so we can improve. I was thus wondering where we slipped up? There was definitely Coke, Energade and water at the finish line on Odendaal. Or what are you referring to?
regards,
Nicholas Haupt
Exceptional event but seeing as how you asking for feedback
1. No coke at the end point
2. Not allowed to take ice, as some wanted to cool off by using ice down their backs
3. That grass area at the back of the stalls was not ideal for chilling out no need for those bicycle displays on the nice grass where we sat previous years
4. If possible, maybe look at getting tables and benches for next year
Thanks to you and the organizers for all the hard work though it was a great day out
