That sounds like quite some movements! 4.5cm higher saddle is interesting and I imagine you with your knees knocked out like on a kids bicycle :). During one of my fitments at Epic Sports they mentioned that the majority of saddles needs to be lowered when they doing a fitment. Mine was also one of those, but not by almost 5 cm. Here's to you getting used to the new position soon and adding like 50 free watts!

The Scott should be lighter with rigid fork and one chainring at the front. When I bought a bike for my then 9 year old, it was a rigid with 1 x very similar to the Roxter.

How hard was the race on your gravel bike? The mount does look way better than on cable ties!

As a friend once told me, whenever there is money involved in any sport you will find a "geknoeiery" (It translates as tinkering)

If you own both for this race I will take a gravel bike. There is one place where I had to walk a couple of meters, but I also had to walk it the year before on my mtb. I think the difference for me was like 30 mins between the 2 types of bikes and what stood out for me on the gravel bike is that I was able to stick to stronger riders that I would not have been able to hold onto with the mtb. I did see several other gravel riders having a hard time staying on a jeep track at one section. But I think that was because of the speed and skill levels. (Every year it seems more riders are on gravel bikes).
