Light, who needs lights, it's full moon I normally skip the technical ST down the back and just ride up past the new SPA. However, I bought myself a Black Diamond Icon headlight (as in for your head) on Sat and I'm keen to trying it out. I'll be going out tonight to test extensively, so if you hear nothing from me tomorrow, send in the troops plz . btw, a guy that works with me built himself a bike light using the new LED Seoul (spel.) bulbs. They are mind blowingly bright... going to be building myself a set asap.

Any locals keen on a night ride on Zevenwagt Wednesday evening? Looks like the weather is going to behave itself for a change. Probably leave around 6pm from Checkers again.

You get a special "carbon" paste that works a treat... most decent bke shops stock it. PS! ask them to do it for you coz it's sh!t expensive.

Oh okay, it was nothing major... at the end of our ride we came across two rather large pools of water (like the size of a decent swimming pool). I was going too fast to stop for the first one so I bailed through it. Only just made it but got my feet slightly wet, it was deaper that expected. So I figured the 2nd one would be much the same... WRONG!! When my shock disappeared up to the headset I realised I was in big trouble. Had it bail in the middle of the mud pool and ended up thigh deep in muddy water with shoe suck. Not sure why but the others found it very entertaining . It never helped it was piss cold and very misty so I ended up riding to Delvera with wet feet and knee warmers... nearly froze my tootsies off The hot coffee & pancakes helped though Buff2007-06-18 09:39:33

Yeah, cool ride. Got to meet another Hubber as well... Dick. Ended up being Popeye, C50, Dick and myself plus non-hubbers Mark, Pea & Henning. Had a good couple of laughs at guys wiping out ... fortunately no damage to bones or bikes. We'll do it again soon, maybe on an open weekend so we can meet a few more hubbers. Cool C50, I've no gripe riding on the farm but I won't cross boundaries. Praat met die ou man, se vir hom die "Blue Broers" gaan ook daar wees.

Hopefully we'll eventually get in right. John (from Zevenwagt) has been trying to negotiate with farmers forming the Bottelary hills conservancy for a while now. There are still a few farmers that are hesitant due to a few bad apples that spoilt a good thing way back when there was still only a hiking trail. Such a pity that some humans can be such A-holes. It's a case of give them a trail and they suddenly think they own the damn farm .
