  1. Mon-goose... Here's my Solis. Phone Mark at 021 9495219 if you're looking for one. His prices are better than those quoted here...
  2. Ja Pops, hy het nou strepe. Lekker oppervlak, moerse vinnig.
  3. tooHot, maybe it's got nothing to do with your looks but rather your profession... I hear stand-up comedians score hot chicks, you still have an outside chance with posts like this...
  4. I don't have the time to get into a moral debate about clubs but I do feel that Jasper has the cyclists and clubs best interests at heart btw, I'm a Harmony member as well and even if I was sponsored, I'd like to get coverage in the harmony newsletter. You know the old saying "there's no such thing as bad publicity". Next year when Duppie looks for a new sponsor the first thing he'll say is that he gets regular coverage in Harmony's newsletter read by 1000 athlete's every month... kudo's for him. Sponsor goes wow, excellent!!!! It can be mutually beneficial for both club and sponsor if done correctly.
  5. Agree with wtiehart, the sponsor should get the bulk of the praise, he's the oke laying out the cash and that's why the riders ride in his clothes. But sponsors only look at the elite athletes (generally speaking) and this is where clubs helps the rest up us plonkers. I think what Popeye is trying to say is that if you are a sponsor and you want more coverage then write race reports and post them online, or task your sponsored riders to write them. Harmony's reports are written by Jasper and he goes to a hell of a lot of trouble to promote the club. Whether the athlete is in Harmony kit or not, he still gets his photo taken. I don't think he's trying to take the shine away from the sponsor but it's his newsletter so he can write what he wants.Buff2007-10-10 07:48:09
  6. The only reason you haven't been getting flats in CT is because the thorns have been dormant during winter. Give it another month and then wait for the bitching. Nothing is dubbeltjie resistant beside a permatube!!!
  7. Pops, was jy al na daai vrou wat advertise in die Harmany newsletter (Anneline) vir 'n sports massage? Wil weet hoe goed sy is? Buff2007-10-05 04:03:54
  8. Percy - 1999 Percy - Recent That creatine is good sh!t !!!!
  9. I have tried Phedra-cut before but found it gave me the severe heebee geebee shakes, bit like a lab rat on a cocaine fix. Gave it up after a week, still have the rest of the bottle (of tabs) on my desk. This works for me: Breakfast: Oats-so-easy & coffee Tea: 2 small apples & tea Lunch: Tuna (1 tin) & low fat mayo on low gi bread (2 slices) Tea: Orange Supper: Protein (chicken, fish or pork) & veggies (steamed) Snack: Almonds Drink plenty water, give up the booze & cut the sugar If I stick to this *religiously and train 5 times a week, I normally lose 1 kilo a week. If you're very overweight, you'll lose 2-3 kilos a week. * that's where the problem liesBuff2007-10-04 07:47:41
  10. ek hoor djou my bru... dan is dit forkin bad news. Ons kannie bekostig om ons "inside" man te verloor .
  11. Hey okes, let's wait till we get the facts before getting our tits in a tangle...
  12. LOL@Willehond
  13. Agree with most above, go custom rather than crossmax's, although in CMX defence, they have apparently sorted out the issue with the free wheel hub this year and they are pretty rigid/solid.
  14. The question should be... Have you ever cycled sober?
  15. That Epic with the brain shock is the closest you're going to get to a hardtail without actually having one. I rode it as well and on hardpack it performs like a hardtail. It's not as forgiving as a normal dual on the smaller bumps but it soaks up the big hits without a problem. I doubt whether Willie still has it, I believe it was Erica's old test bike, but I'm sure he arrange a bike for you to test. Lem, make sure you test ride it before buying as it has a fairly unique ride to it. Pea didn't like the feel, but then again, he suffers with a bad back, so he needs something fairly plush. Rasta, that's a sweet ride. I've always wanted one of those in a roadbike... still do. If I'm not mistaken, Erica also used to ride one years ago, when sponsored?Buff2007-09-27 03:39:39
  16. The Epic was won on duals this year. After riding a dual for 2 years I won't ever go back to a hardtail (I have 2 hanging in the garage that never get ridden). Buy a dual with full lockout, train on it and you'll have no problems. Kyk wat Pea en Henning regkry op hulle duals. Buff2007-09-26 05:42:23
  17. A lot of people have been suffering with this in the cape this year. Are you sure it isn't an allergy though, with spring arriving?
  18. yeah, you forgot one thing... Fan, make sure your spokes are silver clean... because your tongue is going to spend 80% of the race flapping between them .
  19. I listen to neither... remove my chain and soak it in diesel, clean, re-lube (weekly). I've been know to get ungodly distances on a chain & cluster
  20. It also has a lot to do with fitness. We've just come out of the wettest Cape winter in years and a lot of the funriders have hardly had time to dust off their bikes. Come Argus time, everyone's ready to GO.
  21. No wonder Marius is winning the medium routes
  22. dankie tog.
  23. Just got back from the Dr. No broken bones... yippee , Karoo 2 Coast still on track. Been put on anitbiotics & light duty for 5 days though, strict instructions to stay off the bike . Think I might go for a second opinion .
  24. What an awesome, awesome ride. Well worth the early morning drive through to Ceres. Everything was virtually flawless (besides a few of us that somehow managed to get lost... n? Lilo? ). The watering points were some of the best yet with Brandy & Coke freely available . I was tempted, especially after falling my moer off but somehow resisted. The girls in bikini tops were also a most welcome sight after 60odd kays . Had a very leasuirely ride till a mate lost his glasses and rode back 5kays to find them, then we pushed it a bit till I managed to lose my front wheel in spectacular fashion and tried to break from 50 - 0 by burying my right hand into the ground. It worked very well but I think my Karoo 2 Coast is over before it began. Judging by the size of my hand today, I'm pretty sure something's broken. Will go for xtrays tomorrow. Congrats to the organisers, that was some of the best singletrack I've ever ridden. Will definitely pen this one down in the diary for next year. Good turnout of Hubbers at the event as well.
