  1. Dalk was dit ek....
  2. Nibbles to defend his TDF title with Berto, Froome and Quintana looking to spoil the party and young guns Aru & Pinot to try and upset things!!!
  3. I've got one of these I sometimes take with... Cool 180 degree flip-up screen as well for those 'selfies'
  4. Tomorrow is going to be awesome!!! Who do you guys tip for Sunday since both Spartacus & The Panzerwagen is out and the course fairly flat?
  5. Thanks for your reply!!! Getting back to your original question (apologies for the derail), what are your other options or what did you do previously? Safety is paramount and I think it is a bit risky with less than 2 weeks to go to the event.
  6. I think he is still on his way to finish...Froome and the other rider on their way down to their team bus probably. Or were you like to be making a funny
  7. Mmmm, that pic is sad...The reason for my question regarding the technicality was to ascertain whether I would be able to ride it on my rigid SS or need some gears and suspension. I would not contemplate taking a rigid SS to Eden Classic as I don't think I will enjoy it much and spend more time than I would like pushing. My skill level has definitely improved since first riding Eden in 2009 and I rode 95% this year. Yes, it is quite tough and some sections are steep and loose. I don't mind a short 'hike-a-bike' every now and again due to the technicality of the terrain or lack of skill on my side. Your event also had a reputation for being VERY technical previously, sometimes comparing certain sections to Eden. I understand that you need to grow your event but isn't this a bit extreme and scarring nature / taking away from what sets mtb apart from road?
  8. How 'technical' is it, wasn't technical part of the name previously? Compared to for example the Eden Classic?
  9. But only if it looks exactly like the OP's drawing
  10. I'm considering driving the almost 300km just to go ride this ramp!!!
  11. Great job!!! Hopefully MTN-Qubeka can secure a wildcard for TDF next year!!!
  12. Not 100% sure but I caught some commentary yesterday where they mentioned that there are 2 climbs rated as 'ESP' or something which is their equivalent to HC or 'worse'. It is still categorized as 1 but with the (ESP) next to it. I think they mentioned that yesterday's final climb was one and there is another on stage 20. But the Hub Oracle of road cycling (read : Dale) should know the 100% answer
  13. In my experience, you can't go wrong with the Arch EX's, running them with a Maxxis Crossmark 2.1 back and Ardent 2.25 front. Ride some pretty rocky terrain here in the State of the Free and no issues!
  14. I have a 2.25 Canis on the front of my rigid SS. Nice and grippy and no issues so far.
  15. If the Sherpa is not too badly injured he will surely try, but I can't see him make up that deficit on Conto...Podium will be more realistic but then again, he did make up almost 3 minutes at the Giro (although against a slightly weaker field and in some 'suspicious' circumstances).
  16. FC in with the fastest time - 47:13 TM is 6 seconds up on the 1st timecheck.
  17. Slightly off topic, but I also get quite irritated when people having mech's or take a breather do so in the middle of the road and do not leave enough space to pass. Or stop at the top of a hill to admire the view/rest and do so in the middle of it...
  18. They start in reverse order of their current standings on GC.
  19. Had to laugh at the commentators when Conto attacked. Something in the line of: 'El Pistolero pulled his guns and is firing away!!!'
  20. I quite like the bonus seconds the stages offer at this tour. I also think that Froome will go for it, he might need every second he can get as he is already 38 of them behind I think. Will still throw my money the way of the Sherpa though...

    Cricket......

It was a great chase, well structured. The Ozzies will come back with their tales up though!

    Cricket......

Genius he is...Amazing shots played and he batted with a slight injury I believe. Did you watch that T20 IPL over when he was batting against Dale Steyn. True genius.
  23. Thanks again for the help!!! Nothing to say sorry about (except not offering me a beer ).
  24. Yip. We were the 4 poor sods who came up there after you packed up, one of the guys had some derailleur issues (long story)...We finished just before dark. I was nursing the one guy through his 1st marathon.
