  1. So how was the ride
  2. Started in H
  3. I did not hear one "Hold your line comment" yesterday. That must be some sort of record.
  4. http://www.cycletour.co.za/index.php/travel/bikes-on-a-plane/ From the Argus website
  5. You may not get your bike on the same flight during argus weekend. They need to get hundreds if not thousands of bike to cape town that weekend. This is from 2012 but i suspect not much has changed. https://www.google.c....56643336,d.ZGU

  7. I would suggest using a bike transportation like Elliott mobility rather. It may cost more, but much less hassle. With kulula, you need to box/ pack your bike a few days before and take to the airport beforehand. Collect at the airport, reassemble, ride, dismantle, drop off at the airport after the race and collect from the airport a few days later. (Cost is R245 each way) The bike transportation companies pack your bike in an oversized box which needs no dismantling/ removal of pedals etc. Drop off your bike beforehand, collect in cape town. No need to reassemble. The guys at Elliot are at the finish line, so after your race they collect your bike, pack in a box and you can collect a few days later. Costs more (Elliott are R1100 return) but you can find cheaper companies. Much better option in my opinion.
  8. Started in H as well. Agree that there were no groups to join at all. Started in the middle of the batch and by the time I reached the M1, you could see the bunch streched out by 500-750m already, with the guys riding single file or 2 abreast. No groups to talk about for the entire race. Groups either too fast or too slow. The rolling hills did not help either. The big okes got dropped on the climbs and would come screaming down on the descents. Had a blast though. Came in on a personal best of 3:06. Maybe will get the sub 3 next year. The climb on the n14 was each man for himself.
  9. Went for a quick spin this morning. It was not fun riding into that wind. Hope it dies down by tomorrow. The overcast conditions were good though.

  11. To The OP. Why do you need to be rude to the cyclists riding abreast. What is wrong with a polite " You are riding 2 abreast and obstructing the path, please ride single file to allow faster cyclists through. Have a nice ride" Everybody can then go home without feeling antagonized.
  12. My brother took his bike there last year. He was told that the chain and cassette was worn and needed replacing. They put the incorrect ratio cassette that was agreed upon. (He wanted a 11-27 and got a 11-25) The chain was not joined properly (Shimano pin was not installed correctly)and the link had to be removed and replaced with a quicklink. The wheel that needed be trued was botched up as well. Don't have much faith in the workshop and we tend to avoid after that.
  13. Congrats, welcome to the dark side. You can expect to improve by 20-30mins on your road bike.
