  1. Whilst not a fan of Cajees, I think a lot of the criticism is unwarranted. I have purchased a few things from them and I have got things cheaper than than any other bike shop and that includes online shops like chain reaction an CWC etc. Just a few things to keep in mind when buying from them. 1. Know what you want and what the going price for that item is. 2. don't expect expert advice. 3. Be prepared to ask for a discount and haggle. If you are uncomfortable with this than you are/have probably paid too much for your insurance, bond interest rate, car etc. Everything is negotiable. If you can't negotiate then sorry for you. 4. Some things at Cajees are expensive. This is not a crime and as a customer nobody if forcing you to buy from them. If you don't like the price, buy from somewhere else. 5. Cajees were not involved with price fixing, have not defrauded or stolen from you.
  2. You can still sell them on the HUB. The ad should read: "Cross marks for sale. Almost new, hardly ridden. Low rolling resistance. Still good for thousands of KMs. Buyer pays postage."

  7. 3 tyre levers (Once broke one and its a bitch getting a tyre off with only one lever.) 2 tubes 2 bombs Mini pump Multi tool with chain breaker Quick link Tube patches Valve adaptor Wet wipe (The sealed one that you get from a restaurant. Useful to get the grease off your hands) I carry all of this in a saddle bag on my road bike and I don't give a rats ass that some think it does not look cool. It certainly beats walking home or waiting on the side of the road for a good samaritin.
  8. Also my first Argus. Have ridden mainly in Jhb. I ride a compact crank 50/34 with a 11-23 cassette. Have managed the 94.7 without any problems with this ratio. Not sure if I should get a 11-25 for the argus. what raito would the average cyclist need to get over the steeper bits? ( Aiming for a 3:30 - 3:45 argus)
  9. Hey, This is what you can do to get rid of the snake. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/88161-what-snake-iswas-this/page__hl__snake
  10. Cool, thanks. Looking forward to the ride.
  11. Hey, want to join a Group ride tomorrow in the South. Just confirming, are the groups still leaving at 7:00am.

  13. Was wondering the same thing. Seems that they will send it automatically. Maybe somebody that has ordered previously can confirm.
  14. BMI is not at all accurate in athletes. The information it tells you is your weight in relation to your height. However, it does not take into account body composition. So for example, if you take 2 people who both have a height of 1.73m. Both weigh 80kg. Their BMIs are 26.6. One is a trained athlete with a body fat percentage of less than 5%. He is all muscle and hence heavy. The other is a lazy slob with a large beer belly and man boobs. They both have the same BMI which is in the overweight range. The more accurate determinant would be body fat percentage. Can be measured by skin calipers. Most dieticians and biokinetists should be able to do this.
  15. Get stronger, remove the Granny gear. Problem solved.
  16. If its just apps you after, you should consider a Kenyan iTunes account. It has most of the apps of the USA account and you can use your SA credit card. You however cant buy music and books with a Kenyan account. You will need to make up a billing address. Just google an address for a McDonalds or likewise in Kenya.
  17. If I get a set of Zipp 808s then its time to buy a new bike.
  18. Just out of interest, what has your bike cost you thus far in terms of Rands per km. Its one thing buying an expensive bike, but you are only going to get value for your money if you use it. I will start off: I bought my current bike second hand for R7000 and have ridden 2000 km on it. That makes the cost thus far R3.50/km. I have not included services and race fees etc just to try to keep things simple.
  19. Bananas seem to do the trick for me. Much cheaper than energy bars and much easier to chew and swallow in a rush.
