    Attakwas 2022

I remember in the army (I was in Hoedspruit) all physical activities had to stop once the temperature got above 38 degrees.
  2. and of course the the hand-dug cobalt mines in Congo 😜
  3. Entered this morning as well. Looking forward to it, looks like a fun day out.
  4. https://ebikeshq.com/do-ebikes-need-special-chains/ "If your e-bike uses a hub motor, you can get either a regular chain or an e-bike chain. An e-bike chain will be stronger and will last longer, but it is not strictly required for hub motor e-bikes. On the other hand, if your e-bike has a mid-drive motor, there is no other way around it: You must get a chain specifically designed for e-bikes. Otherwise, you will find yourself going through your chains rather quickly and may even have your chain snap on you while on a ride".
  5. Triathlon has always been a crazy expensive sport. You doing 3 sports in one.
  6. It seems that this sort of thing is becoming more and more popular at a fraction of the cost.
  7. My wife doesn't cycle so I guess one has to be considerate. Cycling can become bit of a selfish sport especially over the festive season.
  8. cool pic!
  9. Sheesh... Sani2C must have changed since the last one I did in 2014/15.
  10. Agreed, starting and finishing at the same place is a huge bonus. We normally stay at a guest house close to the start much better than staying in the tents.
  11. I love Berg and Bush have done a couple of them but if you haven't done Sani2c I would say do Sani2C- Day 2 is some of the best MTB riding I have ever done. Do Sani2c this year Berg & Bush next year and Wines2Whales after that or just ride JHB2C 🙂
  12. It seems that some Pro's / Athletes develop Covid induced myocarditis but from what I have read the virus is still too new and the long term consequences for anyone are not yet fully understood. https://athleticsweekly.com/performance/coming-back-from-covid-1039950988/
  13. Must be getting soft in my old age:-) My longest ride ever was 213kms don't think I want to do 500kms in one go.
  14. lol... nail down your "why", meditation, love yourself 🤮
  15. I would like to know what Rebel Wilson done that's a serious transformation.
  16. Hahaha i'm 50 next year! But I have always been lucky when it comes to weight gain. I can eat whatever I like and I never put on any weight, that's why I think it has a lot to do with genetics. Some of us have to work a little harder at weight loss than others.
  17. I guess we are all different and it has a lot to do with our DNA, some people manage to stay thin while others gain weight easily. Maybe in a couple years time CRISPR will turn us all into olympic athletes 🙂
  18. This x 100, I see so many people make great gains lose lots of weight only to put it all back on again.
  19. I've always been skinny so I can't really comment but one of my "heavier" mates who have lost a lot weight swears by intermittent fasting and a ketogenic diet.
  20. Like with all tech it will get cheaper.
  21. I guess nutrition is the fourth discipline in IM and lots of us get it wrong on the day, would be nice to have something like that to train with.
