  1. Yip, yip. On SS, no less.
  2. No problem. Enjoy the ride.
  3. 8 is a bit late for me, like to be out on the bike as it gets light. Any chance of starting at 7?
  4. I'm keen to join you guys. What time are you proposing to meet?
  5. I went with A for the SS and C for my other bike.
  6. Have ordered and paid for two. Can't wait to get them on my bikes.
  7. Death before Derailleur!!!!! I'm in.
  8. It's a good start. You also need to start drinking lots of beer. Preferably mid ride.
  9. I took Stretched@Birth's Ragley's off his hands. Currently have them with the ESI Chunky grips and they are great. They just feel so much better than flat bars.
  10. Too true....
  11. Good to see someone else who "gets" SS. Welcome. There's a regular bunch of SS'ers you'll see at Rietvlei and Thaba. Myself, Stretched@birth and the_nerd. If you're around, come join us.
  12. Looks flat as a pancake. Anyhoo, need to maximise my riding time as there is now a little one at home, so I won't be joining you at Modder. I'll go through and do the 30km at Thaba instead. Enjoy!
  13. I'd be keen, depending on pace.
  14. I've got a set of those Ragley's on my rigid. Unfortunately, not the carbon ones, though. I love them, even though my wife refers to them as shopping bike handlebars
  15. I've raced the 30km twice on SS. Both times have been within 5 minutes of my time on my geared bike. I would suggest that you gear for a flat race. There is one big climb at the start of the race, but if you gear for the climb, you will spin out on the rest of the route. My gear was a 32x19 on a 29r rigid.
  16. Very nice! Have you guys taken a look at what Velosolo offers in chain rings? Very, very nice and they ship to SA in about 8 days. Pricing is good too. I have a couple of their rear cogs, wide base, steel, very happy so far.
  17. Hmmmm, did the same to my Reba, also '08. There were two spacers in there, so took both out and took it from 85mm to 115mm.
  18. You're killing me here. Would love to join, but I will unfortunately be away that weekend.
  19. Very nice. Give it a couple of rides and soon you'll be lusting after something with sliding dropouts or EBB, in steel.

    rigid fork

PM me, I have a carbon rigid fork for 26".
  21. I have a trainer, complete rear wheel and training tyre for sale. PM me if you are interested.
  22. Check out www.singlespeed.co.za. Grant was bringing in the Ragley TD1, which is a Lynskey built Ti frame, with Paragon sliders to set chain tension.
  23. I've bought most of my SS stuff online from www.rapide.co.za www.singlespeed.co.za www.chainreactioncycles.com www.velosolo.co.uk
  24. Another convert. Welcome to the dark side. Once you get over the learning curve, you'll never go back.
  25. It seems like every cyclists litany: I tried x number of saddles before, by luck, found the right one. Seems like the shops should respond to market sentiment and have demo saddles available. I have also tried various saddles, Fizik was torture, Spez not comfortable. Fortunately, my behind seems to like the shape of the Selle Italia SLR. Got the kit carbonio flow on the dual sus and the SLR XC on the SS.
