  1. CONTADOR!!
  2. So a top tennis player can retire at age 24 and he has already earned more than the top cyclist who is just beginning to ride the tour will earn for the rest of is life...hehehe My kids are going to play golf
  3. French Open - Total prizemoney = US$ 17.21 Million Wimbledon - GBP 11,3 Million These guys play max 7 days for 3 to 4.5 hours at a time. Preparation for Wimbledon typically starts after French.. so about 1 month.
  4. I think the status goes: yellow, green, polka, white, pink, lantern rouge
  5. Something that still bothers me about the Vino result: He was already a hero for previous exploits and a TT win is not enough of a motivation for him to cheat. He knew he would be tested, he knew he would be suspended. he knew he would be out the tour, end of career and a huge smudge against his name for running a cycling team in the future - especially in tye TDF or Protour. So either he (and his medical support) did actually use his father's blood thinking the DNA wouldn't be detected... I cant believe anybody in their position would be so stupid. Or something else???
  6. I've been almostb as close to a haai - but it was just a little one. (I didn't crap myself but I did stop blinking for a few hours)
  7. Then fight it for a year, release a biography and retire
  8. No, no, not in Mexico, high in the mountains where he trains alone in early morning light in non team colours. Of course his wife will vouch for his presence. And there is even less chance of a papertrail in Italy... remember this guy is as METICULOUS as LA.
  9. maybe its the fact that EVERY single positive result gets leaked to the press before being released officially.
  10. Its sad that Soler had 99% won the KOM on guts and skill... and now it just falls into his lap. Now if Contador hap been kicked out it would give TBL the white jersey too.. and maybe the green?? still 4 more days to go.
  11. the small silver lining is that at the end of these tours the media/ organisers always need to cling to some positive, sorry I mean happy stories... and that would be the underdog TBL teams performance.
  12. That is so true, especially after Popo went up the road and was just ignored by everyone. Maybe they think Levi can out TT Evans to claim 2/3 podium positions??
  13. I think he can retire from cycling and he will be given a management position at Astana which has plenty of backing in his homecountry, where he has god-status. He is the one rider in the Tour who doesn't need to perform to try and keep/get a ride next year.
  14. I think that once Vino realised he was in trouble he simply 'gave up' knowing that either way he wasn't going to win the race so he may as well lose stacks of time and he is moer free to chase victories (or to help kloden, but I dont think that Vino/Kloden/Ullrich understand what a team mate means!)
  15. Despite what P+Ph had to say... Chicken was isolated, Contador attacked 6 times.... Chicken responded 6 times.... and has now in my opinion got a 'safe' buffer from Evans for the TT. Good day for the chicken. As for Disco/ Contador if he was feeling so good (and he did look strong) why didn't he attack from much earlier??? I think it was because he thought that an attack at the top was risk free for him if Rasmussen countered and got he gap he thought he could catch him on the descent, and he obviously was planning on descending like a demon and maybe getting half a minute or so on Rasmussen if one of his attacks gapped rasmussen.... But all this seems like very negative tactics, not 100% committed to trying to win but rather trying to solidify his seat on the podium in Paris (Evans was likely to jump up to second if Contador didn't get more time on him)??Gumpole2007-07-24 00:58:09
  16. With rasmussen focused on winning the race he needs to get a fair amount of time against Contador and evans still to be safe, TODAY is Soler's big chance to get in an early break and chase points.Gumpole2007-07-23 02:08:54
  17. I would put Kloden and Valverde as higher hopes of being dopers.. Rasmussen... not impossible but who knows
  18. Thats basicly the R7000 isn't it. Also I guess todays market doesn't want a 'top end' bike to have an alu. frame
  19. ...but when your own country's sports' governing body does it???
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/other_sports/cycling/6907568.stm
  21. ja, that Cancellara is incredible too!
  22. amazing, actually brilliant, not amazing after the last weeks efforts.
  23. jaa bit balancing a bike doesn't take any effort. My ave HR at the end of the spinning class was 169 yesterday, which is the same as kyalami, it just takes a long time to get it to a high level.
