  1. That is not a good idea because the plug needs an earth - the metal bits on the side. The bottom picture is the proper socket for it.
  2. They do only have 1 pocket and it's not that big either. It's only an issue for me after a ride if I have to carry my wallet, phone and keys when I get coffee. I use a Bontrager Rapid Pack while I'm riding to hold everything I need.
  3. Mine are XL. I could possibly fit into a large and then it would be more fitted, but I'm sure the buttons would keep on popping like some of my old shots.
  4. Here's me riding with them. You can see the fit.
  5. I absolutely love them; they are very comfortable because they are well, baggy and not fitted. They probably wouldn't work for you then.
  6. Sportsmans Warehouse specifically allows you to use multiple vouchers per transaction.
  7. They should both be available, regardless of your preferred partner. As soon as you use either one, the other one also becomes unavailable.
  8. Strange, on mine it's under Sportsmans Warehouse. Doesn't matter, as long as you got it.
  9. If you don't have it, then query it with them. It's not a mistake. There will be. This is from the Discovery website: 1. One exercise goal = R250 to spend on new summer gear We're about to shake up your summer! Get R250 to spend at Sportsmans Warehouse or Totalsports when you achieve one Vitality Active Rewards exercise goal in November and December 2021. You can now get new summer gear for the value of a coffee with the Vitality Summer Shake-Up. That's a R250 Summer Shake-up reward each month for only Ð150!
  10. You can't really compare them. One is a current model 29er and the other is a 26" bike that is 7 or 8 years old.
  11. No map as such, unless you look at Trailforks. Here's a list of all the boards. Winelands Cycling Club local board - R750 A2Z (Grabouw) Helderberg Farm Wine Lands Cycling Club trails Winelands Trails local board - R550 For Tygerberg members Paarl Adventure Trails (Specialized Trail Zone, Rhebokskloof, Spice Route, Diamant Estate, Laborie, Paarl Reserve) Banhoek Conservancy (Old Bethlehem, Plasir de Merle, Boschendal, Bartinney) Wellington (Wild Boar Trails, Scouts) Franschhoek Trails. One regional board sold by the cycling club - R1500 All of the above Jonkershoek All I can think of that's excluded is Bottelary and Muratie.
  12. The R1000 is for 2021 membership. It's probably going up next year. There are two local boards, one for Winelands Cycling Club (previously known as Wannabees) and one for Winelands Trails. There are no overlaps on the trails that each can access.
  13. Just note that it does not include Jonkershoek. In other news, the Tulbagh trails are now included as part of the standard membership.
  14. Final price has been confirmed. A Tygerberg adult membership is R950.
  15. Is it a Fuel EX or a Top Fuel? There is no Top Fuel EX. I have Ardent Race front and rear on my Top Fuel and I'm really happy with them. I had a Rekon Race on the back and found it slid out way too much in corners.
  16. While they look good, they are an obscure brand, probably cheap Chinese. I would still go for the DMR's.
  17. Sorry, I didn't look at the second Amazon link. Those ones don't look too bad at all.
  18. Here are the DMR pins. These are the proper shin eaters that you need on flat pedals. ride-flats-with-traction-pins.jpg
  19. The pins on those Amazon pedals don't look grippy at all. I have a pair of Crank Brothers Double Shot 1 and the flat side is terrible because of the cheap plastic pins which offer no grip whatsoever. Those DMR pins are the real deal and I would spend that extra money.
  20. Today was the Bloemendal wine run. Apparently wine tasting over a 5km route!
  21. They just looked at my printed copy and gave it back, so I would imagine that phone should be ok.
  22. This morning, my partner was chatting to Eugene of Bike Inn fame who has done both versions and he reckoned that the switchback route was tougher overall. If that's the case, then I definitely want to do the regular route. I've never seen anything negative said about this event, and after the last few days I can see why. The organisation is impeccable, the food is excellent and it's generally just such a lekker vibe. The water points also have everything you need including mechanics (which is what I needed on Monday). I had an interesting issue with my brakes. On Saturday before the race, I put new brake pads in and all was well until about 40 k's in on Monday morning where I was really battling until I realised that my rear brakes were engaged. It then released and I continued on my way until the start of the big climb at Botrivier where it happened again. The only way I could get going was to remove my rear brake pads and ride like that. At least it was all uphill to the next stop. At the last water point, the mechanic drained a bit of the brake fluid from each brake and all was sorted, or so I thought. The next day it happened again with both wheels and we eventually realised that the brake reservoirs were getting hot in the sun. I then tied a buff around each one and the problem went away as they were out of direct sunlight. Apparently this is a known issue with Sram Guide brakes and the reservoir needs to be replaced. The lesson to be learned here - never change anything just before a big event without having time to test it properly and make sure everything works!
  23. The fact that everyone there regardless of vaccination status had to produce a negative covid test at registration should have allowed us a few freedoms over the 3 days like maybe just a once daily temperatures check.
