  1. Ah, yes, I see mine is I, not 1 - 8:00 ????????????
  2. What is your number in the email? Mine is 1951
  3. Darling Brew Extreme. I did the "60km" Bone Crusher. They added an extra 10% for good measure. After 2 days of rain, the ENTIRE route was full of mud and water like this. It is the longest I have ever spent on a mountain bike in one ride. Not even Karoo 2 Coast took me this long to finish.
  4. Will this not just use the normal PPA seeding with non-members starting at the back (and me just before them)?

The only bike stuff there is tubes and tyres as well as some cheap grips. Everything there looks like stuff that not even the crooks wanted. https://bid.cahi.co.za/lot-details/index/catalog/30/lot/7053/Bicycle-parts-Bicycle-Tubes-Tyres?url=%2Fauctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F30%2FSA-POST-OFFICE-UNCLAIMED-GOODS-AUCTION-23-24-AUGUST-2021 https://bid.cahi.co.za/lot-details/index/catalog/30/lot/7459/Bicycle-Handle-Grips?url=%2Fauctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F30%2FSA-POST-OFFICE-UNCLAIMED-GOODS-AUCTION-23-24-AUGUST-2021%3Fpage%3D5
  6. You can use Trailforks app and web. https://www.trailforks.com/trails/map/?activitytype=1&z=11.4&lat=-29.09884&lon=26.18640&m=trailforks
  7. I think you are misunderstanding his question. The problem as he states it is that the suppliers don't want to do business with new shops even on a COD basis. They only want to sell to business that have been going for a while and have a track record.
  8. It's R50 and includes all the Banhoek trails as well.
  9. Bloemendal, Hillcrest, Contermans, Hoogekraal, Welvergenoegd, Missing link up and then tar back to Bloemendal because I had enough for the week. My better half went back over Contermans and added another 200m of climbing.
  10. Bottelary Hills - wind was a bit stronger than I would have liked. This was my longest MTB ride in almost 5 years
  11. If you can't find one locally, then importing is an option: https://www.bikeinn.com/bike/thomson-elite-seatpost/136738473/p
  12. Hoogekraal and Welvergenoegd. Another stunning morning out there.
  13. That is really lekker of them. Below is what it costs for pawls and springs for my hub that I mentioned before.
  14. Some do and some don't. I have a Bontrager Rapid Drive hub and the driver body and end cap just slip on and off without any locking mechanism. I would assume this one is similar. It's not a problem while the wheel is on the bike. It could be a problem if you take the wheel off and face the the cassette side downward.
  15. Did you go down there? Sheesh, but there was a lot of mud at the very bottom!
  16. I did mine yesterday. After going through all the posts here, I decided on Stans rim tape and GP5000 TL 28mm tyres. I got everything from bike-discount.de including some bling Supacaz Star Valvez. I bought the Endurance Orange Seal from Lanoy before I saw that regular is better for road wheels. I'm not wild about the Stans tape as it doesn't seem very sticky and doesn't conform to the shape of the rim nicely, but it is popular and seems to be highly recommended. In a 12 hour period overnight, the tyres each lost about 5 PSI in pressure which I can live with. Monday will be my first ride with this setup so hopefully all goes well.
  17. I have exactly that bike and I tried this https://www.on-lynecomponents.com/products/holy-rail-base-stap-kit . I was not able to fit my spare tube, multi tool, 2 tyre levers and 2 16g bombs with an adapter in, because it was all too tight against the shock.
  18. I decided to try Aramex Global Shopper to see how well it works. I ordered a couple of things which I couldn't find locally from bike-discount.de. The total came to €144 - around R2500 including 19% VAT. Courier to SA from Germany was R414. Aramex received the package on 1 July and then spent the next 25 days getting it to me. On the plus side, there was absolutely nothing extra that I had to pay; no VAT, no duties.
  19. I've entered so I can hopefully get half decent seeding for the cycle tour. My current road seeding is based on the 2016 Durbie Dash.
  20. As far as I am aware, tubeless tyres start at 25mm and go up. Just make sure your frame and brakes can handle the extra width.
  21. I know of the Wannabees: https://www.wannabees.co.za/
  22. Apparently Silverback in Stellenbosch is very helpful.
  23. I don't think Adidas are bringing them in SA any more.
  24. My last order from bike24 took just under a month to be delivered to my door by SAPO. I received it on 17 June, so very recent.
  25. What brand is the hub? Just remember that the pawls are specific to the brand of hub and not to the driver body type.
