    Gravel burn 2025

Except for Attakwas. I have only suffered there, no matter I slow I tried to ride it. 😔
  2. Interestingly, in NL you can buy the Colnago Y1RS with Sram Red group for 12300 euros. Not sure why cyclelab is asking R400k for the V5RS.
  3. No problem. I had a nice Merida hard tail 26er in the early 2010's. I would choose my current Giant Revolt over that Merida any day of the week
  4. Haha, yes please share the 90s hardtail mtb, with the same stiff carbon frame, disk brakes, geometry, sub 9kg build, 29er wheels?😁 Don’t forget the gear ratios and 1x setup. Spoilt for choice, we are. I would rather say😁
  5. Are they planning to race it in their respective licensed age categories or just ride for fun? If for fun, just let them do it on their MTB's, racing, then hire some road bikes.

  7. @J Wakefield Honest question here: With the showing of Tadej during this season, especially tDF, world champs and European champs, what is the general feeling among other teams/pros? Are they motivated to improve in order to compete with Tadej or is it a case of hoping Tadej does not race, in order to have a chance of actually winning something? I can just imagine how difficult it has to be for pros to continually improve, just for a small shot at victory in the current era.
  8. Until Tadej decided it was time to go.
  9. Another +1 on the Giant Revolt. Love mine!
  10. Predominantly tar, then the new spez pathfinder.
  11. I do not think you can use a 12 speed chain on your current 11 speed chainring. So for 12 speed you would need a 12 speed chainring. In my opinion, 12 speed eagle will be a downgrade from your current system in terms of shifting performance. If you are struggling up the hills, might be less faf to just install a smaller chainring on your current setup. *Edit, I see you already have a 12 speed eagle chainring matched with an 11 speed cassette.
  12. Favero assiomas?
  13. Based on the comments on the youtube video, he might have a career making films and commentating/interviewing other riders though. As a spectator, I get the impression that he is there for the jol/vibes/beers/videos and not for the win. Just a comment, as I have no skin in this game
  14. Here you go
  15. Agreed, but in my experience there is no comparison between squirt "lube" and the silca super secret chain wax "top up" lube I am using now. Squirt attracts way more dirt and build up gunk, compared to silca. Hence my comment regarding the use of normal squirt as a waxed chain top up.
  16. Besides the schools series, most of SA (excluding WC) is a dead zone when it comes to racing. 😥
  17. Check on bicyclerollingresistance website. From what I recall the conti race king remains one of the fastest rolling tires, therefore used by the likes of dylan johnson during gravel races. Has all to do with the type of casing. Unfortunately, it is mostly a balancing act between fast rolling and durability/puncture protection.
  18. Roglic wore aero socks with hairy legs in the beginning of the season. Net gain is then 0?
  19. If only there were some road races left in SA to wear the aero socks to 😥. Until then, I guess it is worth it to save the 5w to be first in line at Platõ coffee shop on a Wednesday morning 🤙
  20. With squirt wax, are you also advised to "top up" with normal squirt between immersive waxing? I see this is what Matt Beers is doing at the moment. In my opinion, squirt "normal" lube attracts a lot of gunk. Surely this is not what you would like to do to a waxed chain?
  21. It is great for topping up or inflating a tube. Just remember it will most probably not be able to re seat a tubeless tire. Larger volume mtb tires might also be inflated only once before the battery is flat.
  22. Kickr core with the zwift cog and click. Works great and no adjustment of gears required when fitting different bikes on the trainer.
  23. So I believe that I finally fixed the creaking noise. It was caused by the frame/flip chip interface. I tried cleaning and greasing the flip chip, but the creaking noise would return within a few km's. Last night I removed the flip chip and applied a thin layer of masking tape on the frame/chip contact area, before re installing the flip chip. This mornings ride was quiet, finally!
  24. That patch looks closer to inner thigh than sit bones to me 🤣
