  1. Thug, is ICG on tomorrow??
  2. Great, see you all there!
  3. Nothing frustrates me more than when i walk into a shop, pick up a product or accessory from the wall or shelf and it has no price. Then i pick up the next item and it too is also not priced. Honestly if i have to ask for prices i would rather walk out. It doesnt have to be a sophisticated bar coded price tag, a normal sticky price tag from a cheap tagging gun will do just fine. But dammit, put a price on your stock. One of the quickest ways that i get a first impression of a shop is to check the prices of a few small items. For eg Ill check the price of Fizik bar tape in every shop i walk into, just to get a feel for the place. I know some shops where i can get it for R140, but when i walk into a shop and i see it for like R190 ill think twice about buying anything from them. They may have their reasons for it (old stock / new stock etc) but it just gives me a feel for the place.
  4. Here we go, my Dad got a few pics of them at last years race...
  5. Nope cant see the pics either. And im currently connected through my 3G card, not through my restricted office network.
  6. Ok, cleaned out a few, go for it...

  8. Got a set of Easton XC Ones which i may decide to sell soon. R3500 sounds about right. Less than 700km on the wheels, and they match all the criteria above... Let me know if you are interested.
  9. It should be, i havnt heard anything to say its not on. Alex has also changed the route slightly, making it longer than last weeks 700 odd meter lap, and throwing in a few more corners. Should be hard, but a lot of fun! 17h30 in the parking lot opposite the Dome.

    OUCH

Dont knock it till you try it. Like the other guys say, full carbon saddles may look painful, but they are infact remarkably comfortable. Ok not as comfy as say a padded Arione, but ive done 8 hours plus on my Carbon San Marco Aspide, and i have no complaints at all.
  11. I have 4 bikes, all with different saddles... My Arione still rates as the most comfortable, and i ride this one the most. However i have the Gobi on my MTB, and i just cant find it comfortable. Ive had it for 2 years, and just cant seem to get the same comfort that the Arione gives me. Even thought they are supposed to be the same shape?? Bought a San Marco Aspide Carbon (105g) last year, and this carbon 'plank' is honestly super comfortable. Ive ridden on it for 8 hour rides, and it was not uncomfortable for a second. Decent padding in the pants helps, but it just shows you that the shape of the saddle plays a huge part. Finally i have just got a Sella Italia Flight Carbonio (the new shape flight with the carbon rails - advertized at 140g, actual 172g!). its a hard saddle, and im getting used to it. So far its nowhere near as comfortable as the Arione or the Aspide. (BTW, im sure there was an Arione for sale on one of the threads yesterday for R500?)
  12. Thanks for organising this Alex, it was a hell of a lot of fun Ill be back next week for sure!
  13. All the inside pics are on the couch. Had to crop them a bit, so they would fit!
  14. I had the same thing with a rear Ksyrium SL rim a few years back The rim opened up just like that, and i had to replace it. I didnt see it at first, but after a ride in the rain, i spun the wheel, and water was pouring out of all the holes. It only happened on the drive side spokes, which i suppose is where the most tension is. Actually im convinced that it happened after i rode the wheel on the indoor trainer. I had the wheels for about two years and they were fine, but then one or two sessions on the trainer, and a ride in the rain and i noticed the cracks. Do you think the trainer puts un-natural stress on the wheel?
  15. I finally finished building up my Colnago frame I bought 2 months back. Got it on Friday, and the first ride was the Hub Ride the next day. Seemed appropriate, as I sourced all the parts here on the hub! So for those of you not at the ride, here she is... for the work in progress, have a look at this thread - https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=28718)
  16. Ok, that gives us a much better idea. Thats a newer frame than mine was, probably the 2006 model. Mine was advertised with the Zipps for R25000, but then I sold them off seperatly. When i sold it for R15000, i sold it with a pair of Ksyrium SL's, thats why the price dropped. I would say offer the guy max R18000, and see what he says. Its a great bike, and honestly worth more, but its a really difficult market. If you break it down, what would you pay for the parts secondhand? Frame - R7000, Groupset - R5000, Wheels - R4000, other bits, maybe R2500. So that gives you aguide for a second hand value. Depends on how desperate this guy is to sell. Mine took me three months before i got a buyer!
  17. The Six13 is not titanium, its an aluminium and carbon frame. Thats why its called six13, six - atomic number of Carbon, 13 - atomic number of Aluminium. Its an older bike now, and was made in a few different models. You really need to check wich year and model the Six13 you mention is. 'like new' could mean anything, but the fact is that it is second hand, and you will not be covered under the warranttee. Also im curious how it could be a December 2008? Cannondale dont do compact frames, so your medium size could mean anything. They came in standard sizes, 52,54,56,58 etc. Check that as well, and make sure the top tube length will fit you. As for a price, i would say around 15k. that was all i could get for mine, which had a very similar build to the one you are describing. check it here... https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=19119
