  1. Quite possible. Maybe you're lucky, here's one to try out: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/profile/177811 Regardless, I think the hub website itself is looking good and if you look past a handful of bad eggs I've met lots of good people on here, so it's still a win.
  2. I do it every time I find the urge, but nothing has ever been done. Ironically, the only time a clear reseller changed to a business account that I've seen was after being posted in the 'Classified Comments' thread. It's clearly just not something the mods care about and there's no point trying to be a hero.
  3. Only works when those sellers are registered as dealers, which a good chunk of people who are CLEARLY just resellers are not. Anyway, I was just poking the bear, I accept the status quo
  4. No man, having an entire page taken up by overpriced bikes is the quintessential bikehub experience
  5. I've ridden all the above more than once in the last year and I'd suggest: Cairnbrogie Trail Park Concordia Contours Red Route That's my opinion as someone who enjoys flow lines, berms, features etc.
  6. There has been quite a bit of rain damage, but it's under new management as of last month or so and I believe lots of work is being done.
  7. Have a read through some of their reviews and you'll see a few that are more than a little concerning. The two bikes I've seen that friends bought were both terrible.
  8. Well it seems you've done the legwork. I'm surprised by people saying it makes no difference - in my limited experience there is a massive difference in how adhesive different tapes are, as well as stretchy and easy to remove. The cheaper tapes have dropped me more than once before after a few months.
  9. Unfortunately on my further down the coast already!
  10. Not bad weather for trail riding
  11. The scientists were so busy wondering whether they could, they forgot to ask whether they should 2" XC tyres in a steel fork, barely clears.
  12. If you're willing to go narrower, I'm selling a set of Bontrager XR1s that are very fast and light. Not sure about the durability.
  13. No problem, thank you. I think I may be able to source a bike. Just need to figure out transport now. Stan said he'd open up a chat group later today, so perhaps somewhere there has a spot.
  14. She is 1.65m, would need a 50/52 or thereabouts road bike size. If anybody knows anybody who is driving to Montagu from either Joburg or Cape Town and has space for an extra bike, I would also really appreciate a contact.
  15. Finally made my way to the site and pressed the button that sealed my fate. Now my girlfriend is keen to join for the classic, but she doesn't have a bike that's capable (well, she's got a mtb but it seems Stan wants to be stricter about the no mtb rule) So, can anybody offer some advice on bike rental or getting a bike transported from Cape Town to Montagu? We will be driving down from Joburg.
  16. I'd strongly recommend getting a map of some kind beforehand, the trails were very poorly marked last time I rode there. Did not meet a single rider who wasn't lost as well.
  17. I'd argue that it's inline with the Sanral building on the side of the N1, dividing whatever that part of Midrand is from Centurion.
  18. Normally I do but when you're approaching an intersection where the road surface looks like a bomb hit a section of Mars rock it's probably best to keep both hands on the bars... Joburg life boet
  19. Send me a pm, I may be able to help.
  20. I think if 2.4 is fast enough for Nino it's fast enough for me. As long as I don't get as many punctures. As far as specific brands go, in my experience Bontrager has been spot on, while the continentals and maxxis I've had have all been undersized. Depends on the batch and the type and so many factors. I'd say just go for it.
  21. Look, it could be way worse... Sum total of 4 lines of text visible on cycling weekly, with a banner video (autoplay), a bottom ad (just white here for some reason), and a third in line ad.
  22. A maxxis 2.35 can often be found to be around 2.1".... 🤨
