  1. Downloaded Indievelo last night and did a workout today. Very Zwift-like, just greener.
  2. Last week, I was stopped at one only. The locals said they will close it again after the holiday period to allow for permanent repairs.
  3. Min of meer, ja More or less, yes
  4. The farms not wanting to comply, due to increased costs and little return on these extra costs, might look elsewhere to sell their products, i.e. non-EU based companies.
  5. Don't forget to submit your results by midnight, tonight. Use this link, if you never got the email.
  6. Not sure it was posted here, or if I read it elsewhere. These articles report on the EU's sustainability rules, affecting coffee (as one of the biggest worldwide commodities). Probably won't us at the tip of Africa, but who knows. https://intracen.org/news-and-events/news/how-the-coffee-sector-is-preparing-for-eu-sustainability-rules https://www.bizcommunity.com/Article/196/472/244740.html
  7. Of all the diets, I like the "see food" one the best... see food, and eat it.
  8. Was watching a few guys at Bettyโ€™s Bay, in some rather tough condition (IMO). Was fun to watch. IMG_1866.mov
  9. Agreed; adds character to the shirt.
  10. Iโ€™ve had my sleeve replaced twice on my l/s jacket (red one), as well as some patchwork done, by Panda. Not sure if Ciovita is manufactured locally, to be able to match the fabric and colour.
  11. Experienced a similar thing with a counterfeit Aeropress from Takealot. Thankfully someone managed to identify the minor differences, allowing us to return these to Takealot for a full refund.
  12. โ€ฆ has rain water on it, and crappy top layer that has broken up. The dirty, smelly roads were elsewhere.
  13. First ride at home since mid-December; got wet, but not pap-sop-nat. Also wonderful to see the sewerage running down the roads ๐Ÿคข again after three weeks of clean countryside.
  14. Did another 4km today, because I could. Might do a walk tomorrow, for 2km, and then another run on Wednesdayโ€ฆ making it 60km in total.
  15. The Apple Watch benefit (Vitality) is due for renewal soon (February); the wife used my current benefit, so itโ€™s โ€œmy turnโ€ for a new watch. I currently have the series 3, and itโ€™s been working tirelessly for 6 years. My 735XT (since 2016) covers my training needs, both indoors and outside. Might go for the series 9, as it will only be R1k extra for the 45mm, as opposed to R9k extra for the Ultra 2. Would rather get a 955-solar using the R8k that would be required for the Ultra 2.
  16. I was away for three weeks (holiday), with a pre-planned goal of riding easy; every other day (distance not important), so I started reducing my training load from 947; I was quite well "rested" relative to the load going into 947. Can't say I'm not knackered, but I'd put the fatigue down to poor sleep (not used to a very hard bed). Legs are a bit eina, as running is not my primary form of exercise. As you previously mentioned, the youthful mind thinks the older body is still capable of doing these things, without consequences. Now I can continue my "just ride" mentality until something else pops up on the radar. It's an easy year for me, this year, especially with one extra day in it.
  17. 25% of my KPI is made up ensuring stock rotation and aging. Discount and sell within 12 months of original purchase.
  18. Shipping has always been excluded when theyโ€™ve had โ€œfree socksโ€ up for grabs. I completed previous challenges but declined to order as I had no need for more (at the time).
  19. 50km in the feet done and dustedโ€ฆ now to wait for the mail for the free socks, that has a delivery fee attached to it, unless the order is above a min value ๐Ÿคช
  20. Overnight stop just outside Middelberg (EC). Couldnโ€™t resist exploring the farm roads before breakfast, and the last 6 hours travel time to get home.
  21. Is virtual TSS and virtual fatigue a thing? ๐Ÿ˜
  22. First โ€œrideโ€ for the year, and last one in the WP for the holiday season. A lekker group ride on the best road in the country (IMHO), with some Belgium waffles and ice cream at halfway. Hopefully they can do a good job repairing all the damage before the next rainy season.
  23. Walking qualifies, but the activity needs to be marked as a run. Walking makes a big difference in being able to run again the next day. Try walking for a few days to alleviate the niggles, while still keeping active (and ticking the metres off). Having a beach to walk to, for me, helps with the motivation.
