The prices are sometimes better than elsewhere, but there is no stock, so no savings. In 2020 I wanted to order a Lezyne GPS, but I had to order and pay before knowing any further details (lead time). Eventually got it from Evobikes, as there was more transparency in the process. Chains, cassettes, tyres, tubes, etc., I’ll get locally, as well as anything else I might see on display at the time of paying, like lube, sealant, etc.

We only use Kodi as a media player for the videos on the NAS driver. Will check on the weekend, and see what I can get done. edit: it shows 20.3 on the start up screen.

Indievelo bunch ride, or pace ride as they call it, with Anna Amber Riding in the wind (no draft) seems to have an effect on the power.

I liked the simplicity that was GCN+ @shaper helped onboard Kodi when I purchased a RPi back in the day. Reading this subsequent replies, I might give it go again, given that I have Kodi loaded on my Android box. If Max is available, then I'll have a look there. Otherwise I'm inviting myself over to a few mates, for de Ronde, Paris-Roubaix and a few other classics. Haven't missed de Ronde and PR since it was available to watch in SA.

I'm on a plan without the savings. Scary to think back to 2013/14, when I was last on full comprehensive, that I'm paying 50% more now, for a hospital plan + a few other day-to-day benefits, than the 50% contribution I was paying at that specific company. Worse, is the amount of money that goes to them every month - Medical, Life, Insurance, Money, etc.

I tried one month with Eurosport; paid by my brother in the UK. That was before GCN+ came onboard. I’m a bit weary with the rumours that Eurosport might go the same way, with WB involved.

That other MA company has revised their rewards allocation that has resulted in: 30k less miles earned in 2023 compared to 2022 (for doing the same effort); discount when using miles dropped from 20% to 15% (or 40% to 30% on 15th of each month). And they word their mail that says, (not quoted) "you've saved..."

The circle of (cycling) life; would hope to avoid a return to 2006-2018. Wasted +/-R120k in that time period on StupidSport and the repeat channels, and the repeat channels.

100% - once out riding, it is what it is, just enjoy it. Cadence is a thing for me; probably because my road riding is 80% of my total miles. If I spent more time on a 1x, I'd probably not feel it as much.

From my experience: 2x with a compact cassette (closer ratios). I’m not a fan of the gear spacing on a 1x, and the weight penalty is immaterial to me by having another chain ring.

I started a clean up of my Strava data in December, as I was lazy at certain times and didn't change the gear. Luckily Garmin Connect allows dual recording of gear, eg. the Kickr, Schwinn, 4iiii PM (and battery), HRM (and battery), so it's possible to see some data there. One thing stands out... I don't do enough MTB.
