  1. Weather in Joburg was perfect this week now its gone to the dogs. Cant we just send it back to the Cape. I dont mind sharing but this is ridiculous
  2. The last time I flew SAA my Bianchi never made the return trip from Capetown to Joburg. Unfortunately I was not insured and ended up receiving a miserable R2500 in compensation from SAA. This was also the last time I ever flew SAA. Point is these days you insure everything and expect the worst. Sorry to hear the bad news but I am not in the least surprised. SAA its management and staff are a bunch of oxygen thieves amongst other.
  3. Shees this thread is scary. Know I remember why I down scaled my cycling and started running. Only problem is I have a running injury but can still cycle so what comes after plan b ?
  4. I bought the book and video worked a treat. If you do the course you can do a-z in a weekend. I swim in the top 25% of any pack. Before TI this was not true.
  5. Must admit though the potholes and road conditions make this a very dangerous race. Personally I will have to think twice next year about doing this race considering the poor road conditions. Hopefully our wonderful government will fix the roads but somehow I doubt it
  6. Potholes wrecked havoc in the BL group. Saw at least 1 lady go down in the group and heard one or more frantic scrambles behind me followed by who knows what except to say at one point it got very lonely at the back of the pack
  7. I'm more worried by a suspicious swimmer who adopts a claw like attack on other unsuspecting swimmers
  8. Cyclists need to obey the rules of the road like everyone else. From a safety point of view it is imperative that everyone obey the rules of the road. This is the only way, as cyclists, to try guarantee our safety. If just one person is seen breaking the law other people will break the law and so it will, and has, spread like a cancer. Lawlessness in this country will be the death of many people. When will it be your turn ? Idaho rules etc will never work in SA. Too many taxi's etc will start making their own rules, as they do anyway.

On a MTB anything can happen. I have destroyed a few rear derailleurs in my time.
  10. Cant believe they soooo nice !! I want it pleeeeaase
  11. Gummi where did you get those shoes ?
  12. Get a ruler out and see just how long 2.5mm actually is. Its like a grain of sand on the beach. I really cannot see how 2.5mm is going to make any difference whatsoever.
  13. Spot on could not have said it better myself. I ride roadie for exercise and motorcycle to work everyday. Everyday I have near misses. It has become an everyday experience and way of life. Cant wait for some idiot to challenge me though "what you gonna do about it" boy is this person gonna get a surprise !!
  14. Maybe my wife had a quite word with the store manager and this was a conspiracy designed to ensure I ate less muffin .... NOT all I do now is eat 2 instead of 1 just have to watch that mid rif and make sure it does not get out of hand
  15. Did you notice the muffins also got smaller by about 50% I noticed immediately They did not even bother changing the packaging. So now it looks like tiny little muffins in oversized packaging.
  16. My wife always complains about the price of food. I never go shopping so I dont really know. I went to Woolies the other day for a FEW items. The bill came to R500 I was quite shocked. 2L milk = R23 ?!
  17. Try cycle Randburg to Sandton during peak hour and not lane split. You simply wont get anywhere. Thats why you want a bicycle so you can lane split and get to work in 30 minutes instead of 60 minutes.
  18. H dont forget us at the Boskruin running group
  19. H. I'm always keen lad. On course this week and writing exams. So next week would be good. p.s ever heard of the saying : people who live in glass houses should not throw stones
  20. I do at least 2 swims a week minimum 1500m a session summer, winter whatever. Its the only way to stay in shape.
  21. I saw a few bikes with TT handle bars. Not sure how they made in but clearly the referees did not know. I also saw how dangerous it can be to ride with TT bars in a race like 94.7. NOT a good idea.
  22. Wheels. Having a decent set of hubs makes a huge difference.
  23. If my finances improved I would be doing them all. Sadly 2013 has not been a good year for some.
  24. Yes I agree totally WTF 64 km/h what a woes
