I saw many people walking up Hekpoort hill it was quite funny to watch. Personally I did not have a good ride up until I climbed Hekpoort after that I found my mojo and was a complete beast after that.

If I look at the general perception of motorists towards cyclists and motorcyclists on news24 I would say we are lucky not to have roving mobs trying to lynch us at ever turn. its the wild west out there folks. be careful and be safe.

I had a good race. Thought the organization was pretty good. If anything I can complain about is that Route 66 totally under estimated the amount of beer I drink post a race and they were hopelessly understaffed. The burgers sucked big time

I just wish winter would come to an end. I have become such a woes this winter I have not been near my bike in months. Been working on my running and swimming all winter. Those freezing 5am sessions with the boskruin crowd are starting to pay dividends. Now just got the find some time to cycle ....

Must say I do enjoy sun city and the race itself somehow seems a little more relaxed. But don't misjudge the run its much tougher than 5150.

Well lets just say that the water is damn cold. You can do the swim in a normal tri suit or costume whatever you want but believe me without a wet suit you gonna freeze.

3 rides a week ?! that's never enough no frikken chance. Here are some rules you should think about: 1. It is all about the bike (forget armstrong he's a loser) 2. The Bike comes first not the family 3. Everything else comes second. You work and live to ride. 4. You can never have enough bikes 5. The bike on the roof of the car must always be more expensive than the car 6. and ... and ... need i carry on ? does that put things into perspective

Came out of the Gym in Randburg this morning some arse comes screaming through the parking lot driving a white Honda and almost took me and a bunch of kids out trying to cross into the parking lot. He must have been doing at least 100km/h in the parking lot. All he managed to do was get in the back of the queue at the KFC 1 minute faster than anyone else so he could stuff his face. Frikken hope he chokes to death on his KFC.

Tax money !!! theres an idea I usually get about 20k back every year. Just a pity the company I work for has not given us our IRP5's yet

Mine is not going very well. Had to try very hard this morning on my run to chase the rabbit at 5h45 min / km. Managed to catch the rabbit at the 9km point.

Yesterday I was running down Beyers from Northumberland toward the video area late afternoon and a female person from the dark side just could not wait at the robots like everyone else and simply overtook all the cars in the emergency lane and came straight at me. I had no choice but to get the hell out of the lane onto the dirt. Wonder if she got the message when I tossed a duracell her way as she passed

Go to the Fittrack site. Currently the triathlon programs (or most of them) are free or not very expensive and give a fair idea of what needs to be done and then lets you track where you are. Of course its not going to tell you how you should be doing things but there's enough folks on this site who would be more than willing to help with info on how and technique.

Right round the corner where I live. The taxi's do it all the time. When I go running in the mornings or afternoons they come right at you and you have to vacate the emergency lane or face being run over. They dont give a damn. So now I go running and pick up stones as I go along and I use them to great effect. Have not smashed any windows yet but certainly get a reaction. Fortunately no one has decided to come back for more. As for cycling up Beyers no chance.

As a TSA member are we supposed to get a TSA card ? I have been a member for quite a few years and dont ever remember seeing anything in the post or otherwise.

Exactly whats the point ... All it is is a big brother type scam with other devious goals in mind. Certainly not here to help the general public at all. All they are doing is making sure that we the public are not screwing the government.

This is not the first time this happened. I've seen this happen in a few races over the last few years.

Its getting there slowly. Bit of slippage here and there. Calves are tired today.

Unfortunately my brand new 310XT has not helped my running pace at all. Perhaps I should concentrate on the running and less on the watch
