  1. Not everyone has that budget. But i use this when i do Audax rides. and it works https://www.takealot.com/adjustable-360-rotatable-bicycle-mirror-for-handlebars/PLID73895109
  2. Hit by car. however untill info is out suggest refrain from speculation.
  3. Remember. during riding, especially long rides. feet dent to swell a bit and then adds pressure that could be seen as"hot feeling" Also sometime we tend to tighten to much. Socks makes a big diffrence. Your feet needs some space to swell etc. Hope it helps.
  4. a bit late to this topic but had my solution installed in 2019. 3kva + 4 x 100ah 12v lead accid. Last year added 2 panels to assist during daytime to charge. After 3 years the batteries did not hold charge but that was expected. Swapped the 4 x 100h for 2 x 12v 200ah Litium. From research and expiernec gel prices are so high now and i got litium. Pricing i worked out for s similar system now around 35k excluding installationa nd wiring etc. Mine has COC and seprate db board so dont realy know it is loadshedding Be carefull . many as the installer called tehm (Bakkie brigades) jumping on teh wagon and not clealy explaing or selling correct solution.

  9. Pirelli Cinturato 45-622 Gravel Mixed Tyre Had no issue including a miss adventure at the wrong side of Vangaalen wth all those dewil thorns. Perhaps a pressure issue as i tend to be a bit on the hard side but have never had issue either GB or MTB FYI check take-a-lot see they have stock
  10. why i have insurance. if they want it they will take it. doesn't mean i want it back. thought i would share.

  12. doing the grit this year but also a Non finisher of the 2019 hell at 875km. did many many miles in prep and my body just gave in. but as i also do audax rides it helped my training. Last year was set to do the 600km after doing teh 200 300 400 Audax and at 140 my mind went Snap and said. WTF and it was the first time i had to call a friend to come and fetch me. I put it of to not feeling well en a many excuses but it was just that my mind said nope. However. for Me as everyone is different. I did to may long rides and can not get myself now to do even 60km ride. as someone who went lets go do 200km i know cant face that. I finally got myself right and did the rapah 500 in 4 days with a 230km and 150km ride chucked in and that was the final straw. For this year haven't even hit 1000km yet and where i use to look forward to a 8+ hour ride now i cant even get myself to go do a 3 hour one. Think fast one on the gravel bike has been my longest ride this year. It is a mental thing and it is real. so be car full. probably doing the grit with little long distance training and know it is going to hurt but that is what it is. But as i ramble on be careful the long stuff can bit hard and it is not fitness related. an they leave scars that takes time

  14. I see as per timing sheets MTB 50km -117 20km - 87 204 total 109 Road - 708 60 - 200 908 total but is it cost time, lvl of difficulty?
  15. Well that begs the question. Cost or because it is a tough race. or because suddenly there are 400 billion races and people are becoming more selective or seem teh road races are busy but MTB not? Seems the road race was a lot more ? or am i mistaken
  16. Stats from Km 25 to 40 This included the 2 water points
  17. That hurt. But must say i was saddend by as mentioned price giving Lack of water points. 3 i total. and having 2 within 2km from each other. Numbers. So no is it becuase it was cost or on the 45km the toughness. But still worthwhile ride but for us locals who ride there often a let down on the number of people at the hidden gem
  18. the flex on the seat post is what gets you.
  19. My Chop son, He ows me one. If you see it you will know
  20. Only thing i can say is start slow as it kicks you in da nuts after 20 when we come back into kings. But is an awesome ride with views that are to die for. See what i did there
  21. Kings on the 45km gonna bee fun. Lots and lots and lots of climbing. Oh then you climb some more 45km 1046m climb Awesome for us locals as it is a hidden gem. No rain dances .
