  1. Thanks, great ride! Sorry about Vetseun's knees failing us: he ended up having to be picked up by wifee...
  2. Condolences. Those left behind will be in our thoughts and prayers.
  3. Great, see you there! & I'm outta here, apparently the traffic on the N1 N is madness through Bucclue/Alandale/New rd...
  4. I'll probably wear Alessio-Bianchi kit, riding a Bianchi. My mate will be on a Giant with Red/Black Nissan kit. What are you guys wearing? TCS kit? Anyone from Centurion that wants to join this ride and want to take it via Eeufees to the toll road?
  5. Grapkas, how are you going to the dam? Using the N4(W) toll? I'm trying to buy some time coming from Centurion: can I meet your bunch on the corner of N4 & whatever the street is that goes through the tunnel at around 06:20? No worries about waiting, I'll make sure we're there before y'all...
  6. Mind if I join & bring a pal? We'll try our best to keep up...
  7. If I recall recorrectly, the UCI wasn't too happy with the bikes of Boardman and Obree around 2000 and banned unconventional frame designs. But I like the idea of frictionless bearings...maybe some application of nano tech to increase the efficiency of the chain/sprocket/chainwheel interface?
  8. Had an interesting debade this morning: With UCI regulations already limiting bike design and weights, where do you think the R&D focus will be in 5-10 years time? I think: - Most bikes offered for purchase will be close to the weight limits at prices relatively to today's market - All groups will offer 14-odd cassettes with triples at no weight disadvantage (weight limit not compromised). The usage of compacts & triples will become the norm in the market - Marketing will become the only differentiator in the market, with all frames manufactured in a handful of highly-capable factories - Zipp404's will be considered "Classic" IMHO EdoardoBianchi2007-04-25 23:37:46
  9. Big H, you're a saint for pushing this so hard - thanks. I'll sell my L'Una to donate, how's that? Kidding, but she is for sale. I will buy two signs as a Campagger if I get my price...
  10. Nice. Good luck to all Panorama'ers!
  11. Feeling better?
  12. "Landis, who denies taking performance-enhancing drugs, has charged the Labaratoire National Depistage de Dopage's (LNDD) laboratory at Chatenay-Malabry outside Paris with mis-handling his original samples. " The arrogance. Sickening.
  13. GT for me...
  14. I thought carbon was a bit of a beat-me-upper, being less resilient than alu and more so for lighter riders. I experienced this 1st hand going from a SL3 Bianchi (Alu with Cardon forks) to my Bianchi L'Una (full carbon) - felt like I was bouncing all over the show, until I realised this is what they call "responsiveness". Isn't the 6-13 an alu-carbon mix?
  15. Mrs EB will have to spend some time with the geeeerls...The TV's all mine
  16. Nope, was planning for the next long weekend (27/05 et al), but I've noticed the Panorama is on and might just crack an entry... Since I'm not planning on going to the SA's, I think the effort will be wasted though and I'd rather do it in October in prep for the 94.7 Aaaargh, indecision and impending pain...
  17. No, as long as you do more than 3 sessions a week and not less than 30mins.
  18. Good luck with regular stints on the IDT - I could only manage 30mins (ever) and resorted back to sparrows-f@rt rides... I guess IDT is better quality than on the road (i.e. harder and better structured) and 30mins probably equals 45mins - 1hour anyway. To get aerobic benefit you need more than 45 mins of easy riding (50 - 75% of max HR) more than three times a week. Anyone that has managed regular IDT training with tips/training program?
  19. I've checked all attachments - nothing else is lose. I'll just live the noise (but never buy Time again, thanks to their technical support) On contacting J&J: No point, since the problem is a common Time one and should be addressed by them. They're not interested enough though. But they are French and I forgive them for that.
  20. You can also join the CycleLab (Megawatt Park) and Club100 (Er, CycleLab shop) rides to get to know the routes in the area. Anyone want to help out with details of contact persons, timing, groups, etc? PS: Welcome to GP, TooHot
  21. What they said. Thanks for posting this story, BM, it has a kinda feel-good ring to it...
  22. Hmm, 5 days and no response from Time. From a loyal customer with a serious technical concern. Seems like Marvuli's service is fantastic by comparison (refer Ewep's post on saddle woes)
  23. ...Please keep us posted on this. I would be very interested. Not saying I can definitely make it work but will definitely try. What he said!
