  1. Had a great time out even though my play time was cut a little short. Will prepare better for the next one and will def go the full 6hr then. had to cut home after 3hr. Great track - had a real good time!
  2. Yip - Tyrone is your Boy!
  3. ....... and kickin some ass! Thats the nly way one gets a pref of `King`, isnt it? Getting quite excited about this one for some stupid reason!
  4. As with any advise - take what you can, use some common sense and carry on. Only a Goliath Grouper swallows everything whole! In the words of Baz Lurman - Be careful who`s advise you buy - but be patient with those who divulge it for free.
  5. Wayne - it can be as good for you as it can be bad for you! Injury possibility is greatly increased when Olympic movements are done to time. That being said - it is social, entertaining and a great workout compared to time needed. Be careful and you could go a long way - get egotistical and you might spend more time in rehab. It is good fun
  6. From what I heard the track is well suited to it - twisty enough to keep the mind occupied but simple enough to ride in the dark with a tired body! Will bring some extra Marathon Fuel in case someone runs out of gas!
  7. Going to give the 6hr man-with-no-friends-thing a go! Think we are going to learn a lot about ourselfs!
  8. Something I found when doing the bearings on mine was that the plastic seal between the freehub body and the hub also cause quite a bit of friction. There is a little groove it slots into on the freehub - apply some grease there before putting back the seal. That sorted it out for me. Just know that Hope rear hub is a bit tighter than most. Check the bearings first though! I found that adding some copper paste to the inner race of the hub before you put them back also helps them lining up properly!
  9. Did it for a mate of mine just before Trans Baviaans - think it was M540`s. It was pretty simple - sure the XT`are the same. I finished the servicing before he finished his coffee. No real special tool required.
  10. Give BAT seal a try - distributed by the guys at Bicicletta.
  11. I would possible be keen on a set of these : http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/us/en/hope-race-matchmaker-clamps/rp-prod51958
  12. Greetings Sir, I am a fairly compitant baggage handler and amateur bike wash enthusiast with a soft spot for the outdoors. I am fairly certain that I could compile a list of interesting conversational topics to converse with you - or if you prefer silence - I could try my hand at that. Seeing as you are probably old and grumpy - as judged by your profile pic - I will stick only to your prefered topics - which I would guess would prob be bitching & moaning. I have a mother in law so Im well acquainted with said topic! Please invite me along can do with a holiday - plus you will have some added backup if you get into a bar fight - which will prob happen if you have some short-man syndrome with that bitching and moaning attitude. Looking forward to your invite and prob 3 days of riding as you will overestimate your ability in your old age and pull a muscle on day 1 because your ego wont let the younger athletes go. Kind regards, Dipshit Duvenhge!
  13. I can recommend 2 places in Pta - not sure about Jhb
  14. I had some ITB a while back - couldnt shake it with just the foam roller and stretching. I did get great results in a short time with Lyno therapy and some needles. I think the biggest contributor to painless running is shoes and muscle balance. Hope that helps.
  15. Do it, Do it, Do it!
  16. Just heard that King Alton will throw his hat into the New-Fathers Unofficial Highveld Duathlon Championships of the WORLD!!!! Sources have said that construction of his new `Dream Destroying` machine is underway as we speak. Perhaps now is the time to align with the lesser of 2 evils and join forces with Eldron in our quest for The Greater Good!
  17. If I remeber correct - 3/4 inch fits a 15mm thru percectly. There are adapters mounts that connects QR bike rake and offers Thru axle option - will try to find the pic
  18. Bike rack for a thru axle, yeh?
  19. Heia was fun - will be at Hakahana. Sugesstion : At Heia the route suited me fine and I had a good time. However I did feel a slight bit sorry for the newcomers to duathlon as the route was very technical for less proficient riders - maybe ease off of the tech stuff for the 1/2 and 1/4 distances - if you enter the full you know whats coming - the shorter ones, maybe give them a better shot to enjoying the sport rather than scaring them off. Just my 2 c.
  20. I`ll im as well - first `race` in a while. I have it on good authority that Eldron also wants to boost his piggy bank - the term used was `........... like candy from a baby`! Keep an eye out for the Singletrack Fuel shirts and come say hi!
  21. Key thing for me is light on the lid rather than the bars. Had it again this am where a `still asleep` driver came charging out a side street just before dawn and almost T-bone me. Luckily just by looking her way my light caught her eye and she stopped just it time. If it was only on the bar I might have needed new tyres - and shorts!
  22. Agreed ! Normal bike racks always manages to hurt the derailleur. Hanging from the saddle would be best - easy to use - no damage to frame! Even something that the nose of the saddle can just hook through.
  23. Hey Nev, From what I understand they are great bikes and very light. 2 of my mates ride them - they are very happy with them
  24. Tracking systems are no longer a means of preventing the crime - merely a compulsory requirement in order for insurance to pay out! As Vangar said - `Most tracking devices are either out of the car or blocked within a few minutes` If they have a 10min lead - it is GONE!
